Can a civilian get on naval base in Norfolk, VA?

Well.. my boyfriend just got thrown in the brig because he is an idiot. I was just wondering, since I don't have a Military ID, will I be able to get on base to see him without one? And what will I need to do?
He is stationed in Norfolk, VA
Additional Details
The brig he is in has visitation hours on the weekends from 12:30 to 3 and civilians are allowed to visit. Its just getting on the base I am wondering about

You can't get onbase without an escourt. Meaning one of his buddies or wives have to escourt you over to the Brig on visiting day during visiting hours. There is no other way to get onbase for a civillian. |

You should be able to get on base by showing an I.D. If driving, make sure you have your drivers license, proof of insurance and registration. |

you will probably need a pass and someone to escort you. IIRC Norfolk is a closed base meaning you can't just get on you need to be escorted.
you MIGHT be able to get a pass by going to the Pass and ID office at the gate and explain what you want to do.
Personally,I'd dump him, he's screwed up what twice now at least? you deserve better. |

Call the brig, and ask them if visitation is allowed. If yes, get a temporary pass, state your business, and you should be fine. |

Probably not. If he is in the brig, he is in a "secure" area. Even if you could get onto the post, you will not be able to see him while he is confined. You might want to contact his chaplain and see if something can be arranged but I doubt it. Good luck and hopefully he will wise up. |
