absolutely she can be deployed. there are no free passes just because she has kids. she is required to have a Family care plan in affect at all times to make sure there IS someone available 24/7 to take care of the kids at short notice. if she doesn't she can and will be kicked out for failure to obey a standing order. |

Yes, they will. Every member must have made arrangements to have someone care for their children if needed. This is a regulation called the Family Care Plan.
The purpose of a military is to defend and protect. It is also to fight wars and win. I am sorry but it is not a way to just get some perks. |

She signed up to do a job, took the pay. You buy your ticket and take your chances. |

That is why she has a family care plan. If her unit is deployed then she used whomever is in the plan to take care of the kids. If she doesn't have a family care plan she can/will be chaptered. |

That is her job and it's what she is paid to do. |

She chose to join and has arrangements made already. They have a plan. |

It doesn't matter what kind of life that woman has. If her orders are to go then she must go. If she doesn't go she is considered AWOL. Stop worrying about this woman. She chose that life. She chose to be in the military. She chose to have children. It is her responsibility to already have plans in place in case she does leave. |

She knew the risks when she signed up - if this creates a hardship for her, she should not be in the military to begin with. |

Every single person (and dual military) is required to have a family care plan in case of situations such as this. It is REQUIRED, and failure to have a FCP is considered failure to obey orders.
So, yes... she can be deployed. And those who are listed on her FCP will be responsible for her children should that happen.
I have several divorced friends whose children travel and live with their fathers every time they deploy. |

That can go one of two ways...she has to have a valid family care plan (possibly her parents or the children's father) OR...she can take a Chapter 5-8 and get out of the military. The military is very clear cut when it comes to family vs duty. |

They will send her. If she has absolutely nobody that can watch her kids she could be discharged for hardship reasons. She'll keep whatever benefits she has earned but can't serve if she doesn't have a plan for her kids. That's the rules and they won't change. If you can't deploy, you can't stay enlisted. That's the way it is. |

Yes. She must have a careplan in place in case she is deployed. If not, she should seek separation from the service. |

All military members must have a Family Care Plan. If she did not want to be deployed, she shouldn't have joined the military. |

She must have been divorced during enlistment. In the military you cannot enlist as a single parent. But yes she can be deployed. She could still also get out if she wanted. The family care plan will grant her a discharge if she is the only one able to care for he kids. |

Single moms go to war just like single dads. If you do not have a family care plan then you can be administratively discharged. That is part of your military responsibility. |

Yes they can and they will. They knew they had to have someone watch there Children when signing up for the Military.I know this is hard for the Mother But she is going to have to have someone watch hem,Because she could be called for duty at anytime. |

Im sure there is more to this story, and I do know there is day care, but the Family Care Plan is there for a reason, but I don't buy the fact that she has no one to watch the children, she does still work yes, than someone is there. Im sick of people trying to duck deployments, like that woman who even made it on television whining about her husband travelling. You enlist, you know the rules, I don't want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan in her place, because I have no children.
Waaaahhh, I have a wife who has a job, who will be there for her when she has a bad day????? Can I skip out on my next deployment. |

Killer Queen is absolutely correct....but recently there was a woman in the news who had no one and showed up to the duty station with her small child in tow.
The press got wind of it, and the military, not wanting to look bad, granted her an honorary discharge. I would say she got lucky and I would not recommend this for any single parent as a "plan of action" The next one might get thrown in the brig!
There's a lot to be said for tipping off the press beforehand, and being the first to come up with a bold and unique idea! |
