I don't know what it was called or if it even exists but I heard about it from someone and was just wondering if they can or what it was called.

It's called mid-tour leave as well as R&R and is for two weeks. When my husband was deployed leave slots were being drawn as early as two months in. A soldier can put in their preference for when they take leave, whether their preference is honored depends on what's going on at the time of their leave as well as other soldiers. For example, if a soldier wants to take leave in March because it's right in the middle, a soldier wanting to take leave at the same time for the birth of a baby is likely to take preference. Of course, if all hell breaks lose, anyone expecting to take leave at that time will be postponed.
As another poster pointed out, they will also let soldiers return home for major family emergencies if everything can be handled with them gone. It's actually another example of what can postpone another soldier's leave. |

Military in Iraq 12 months or longer will be allowed R&R for 2 weeks during the deployment. This can happen half way through, 3/4 through, etc... depending on what times are available for the AD member to take and when it is approved. |

not always. anyone on a SCHEDULED 12 or 15 month deployment MAY, at command discretion, take up to 18 Days of R&R. it is never a guarantee and can be revoked .
DH is currently deployed for 8 months and is NOT authorized to get R&R. |

Usually soldiers deployed to iraq get to go on leave (come home) for exactly one week after 6 months of being there, then they go back to iraq for another 6 months |

Yes, it's called R&R. I got two weeks after 6 months of a one year rotation. |

Good afternoon.
I have a question if someone is in the military but wants to come home. I been asked to filled this form money back guaranty. I can send it western union or money gram. for 450.00 dollars. questions is right. They will give a check to the officer in iraq called service funds. I just dont want to pay for something that is not right. help me out here.
