Yep for the most part the military is equal. The only area they are not is when it comes to Special Ops and some other combat jobs.
As far as rank you can make it just as fast as a male. It all depends on how dedicated you are to your career and how hard your willing to work. |

Of course. You will expected to work hard regardless of how you pee. No one will hold you back but you. |

A woman can get as far as any man but you must be strong willed to survive in the armed forces. Keep your head up, you can do anything you set your mind to. |

The opportunities for women have dramatically increased over the last decade for women. There are women in the general officer grades (this include admiral in the Navy). Ditto that for the enlisted grades. |

Hi Ashely,,,,,
Honey let me tell you this..... I was in the Army,, Special Forces... and all the bad -boy stuff.... and a non-commissioned officer....E-7....and went to Warrent Officer School .... and have been on several missions in my time in grade...
Meanwhile... i have a female cousin,,, that joined the National Guard... went to OCS....and has gone from a 2nd Lt.... to a Full Bird Colonel.... and is in charge of all national guard troops being deployed.....
Which one do you think had the best deal???? She did... and I am so proud of her......
good luck |

Yes.. there have been women who have done quite well. Grace Hopper, a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, contributed to early computers and helped in the early development of COBOL computer language. I mention her because she did this from the early 40s which was not a time of politically correct women's rights. Point is, if your bright and work hard you can do it. |

sure , now there is no she can`t do it no more, women have the same rights as men, and if u get far is up 2 u , if u put effort to it, and ur mind i think u could the best |

Yes. My old unit in the USAF was recently reactivated and the First Sergeant is a female. There are quite a number of General officers that are female....Check with your local recruiter. |

Yes they can. Im in the US Marine Corps an I have seen a female LtCol, an thats 2 ranks down from a Brigadere General. U just dont c that many females becuz they join then stop after a while. The Marine Corps is alot easier on females wen it comes 2 promoting. Ive seen alot of Corporals that r females becuz its easy promoting. But its a long way if u want 2 go career. Thanx 4 the 2 points...BOO-YA!!! |

Of course they would let a woman advance as rapidly as a man. Remember, if you do go into service, get a good education and retire after 20-25 years, and then if you want to work and make more money, you'll have a good profession. |

The Installation Commander at Fort McClellan, AL, when I enlisted in 1979, was Brigadier General Mary C. Clarke.
You can go however high you want in the military. There really is no "glass ceiling." Performance is what counts. |

By sheer coincidence, the highest ranking woman IN the military just died recently.
She was a Major General, Kathryn G. Frost.
You can probably go to an Army website, and find out what that pay range is. Neither my aunt nor my sister ever got to Captain
Ask your brother of he knows of any higher ranks than Maj Gen.
(Of course, if you depend on MEN for your information, you might never get very far in ANY organization!) |

a woman, believe it or not, can do anything she sets her mind to! you don't move up in rank by who you sleep with, it really is knowledge and hard work. and i mean hard work!! |

BluntTrama

Of course they can. |

Yes, but it is hard and depending on who you are stationed with or the company you are in being assaulted is not unheard of and though all branches of the military seem to be making steps to improve the situation, often times the victim is still treated as a criminal and it can hurt your career and many times the women do have to deal with men who think women don't belong and make their life difficult.
That said, many more women go onto sucessful careers (and don't get attacked or have to sleep their way to the top) and though there are some areas women are not allowed to work, like Navy SEALs or on the front line, for some of those, the lines are blurring, so many more women are seeing front line action in these wars we have now then ever before because they are in supply chains or repair units.
If you are good and work hard you can move up just as fast as any guy, but you got to earn it. |

Why would a women not be able to? I mean I think that it depends if you were in ROTC and if you are an officer or a enlisted person. |

The U.S. military is the most color-blind, gender-blind institution in the world. You can't get ahead here, you don't deserve it. |
