My state allows active duty military members to drive on an expired license but - 60 days after I separate or retire, I better have a new one. |

there are a few states that have automatic extensions as long as your active military, so yes in some cases you can |

States differ, but generally, unless you're stationed in the state that you DL is issued from you can continue to use that license.
I drove legally in CA for 4 years with an IL license. I'm a FL resident now and when my license expires I asked for a new one. They sent it though they did use a pic from 8 years ago. |

Yes, but you'll have to check with your state of record. In some states, Active Duty military personnel CAN drive with an expired license from their state of record, but may require an additional form/card to be carried showing that the license is still valid.
The two states I know off the top of my head are North Dakota and California. ND requires proof that you're active duty, but never requires renewal until after you're separated. California requires that you carry a card issued by the state of CA showing that your license is still valid despite the expiration date.
Www.dmv.org has a section for military drivers that can tell you what each state requires. I'd double-check with the state in question though. |

If you are not living in your home state, you can send for an extension to your license...but this is done BEFORE it expires. |

This happened to me. What happens is when you go home on leave you have to get your license updated, I know in Texas if you are back in the state you have three months to update it and after that they will light you up with tickets. |

As has already been stated, it depends on your state. However in order to drive a Military vehicle you must have a Civilian driver's license. It is up to your BMO if he will issue you a Military 348 if your license is expired. |

As long as it isn't your home state you are allowed to drive on an expired license as long as you have your military ID. It can not be expired more than a year unless you have military orders on you showing you were overseas for a long period of time. |

No as you would need a regular drivers license to be able to drive miltary and civilian vehicles. You can get a military license to drive military vehicles but would need both to do so. |

The answer lies within the State the license is from. Some States allows military members to operate while still in service. |

They can operate a military vehicle regardless of their civilian driving license status, if the military has issued them a military driver's license. |

I'm from minnesota and it says right on the dmv website that military personnel licenses don't expire so long as you're active duty. It don't expire till 90 days out. We are not civilians. This happens to be benefit we get and is one exception to be above civilian law. I know people look down on it but being in a different state and not being able to renew it cause unit don't give leave then its no different then if I was overseas and unable to renew it. |
