Yes it is possible in all service branch's.

Not likely, but possible.

In the Army or Marines, you would need to be in combat arms.

In the Navy you would need to be in a Rate that promoted to E-4 after A school.

In the Air Force, you would need to make E-4 Below the Zone

And in all cases, you would have to make E-5 the first time you were eligible.

PS: It is not " rank up " you are promoted

" rank up " is a term people who know nothing about the military use.

In the Army it's possible and happens frequently in Combat Arms. I entered as a PFC (E-3) at 17 years old and I was a Sergeant (E-5) at 30 months and 20 years old in 1991 and a Staff Sergeant (E-6) at 5 years.

yes you can. a lot of mos's (your job in the military) can not however due to the overstrength in that specific mos. if you want to advance really fast...you can either join a STAR mos (which is a job the army is hurting for) or you can get deployed immediately after joining the military in order to get rank down range. which is what a lot of people do. but getting deployed is not a decision you can make. i would go with the STAR mos option.

On a Submarine in most ratings if you AREN'T E-5 in a couple of years people wonder what's wrong with you.

Not unless you have prior training in your MOS, like if you have a CDL and you enlist as a truck driver.

Yes talk to a recruiter you can join as a e-3

Ashley
in the army it is possible b4 you go to bct you can get to e-2 if you pass a certain physical and then you can get to an e-3 if you recruit someone and then during basic there is a possibility to go to an e-4 if you get promoted for doing well so i would assume so cuz thats all withing the first 4 months..
