Can i get my cell phone and laptop in my ait....it is 28 weeks long....what about pov??...or seeing my gf?

i have my AIT at fort Eustis is in Virgina and was wondering if what ive heard is true.....will i be able to have my cell phone and my laptop there. I was told that since my AIT is 28 weeks long that they might let me have my own pov..is that true.....the thing that i really want to know is whether or not i will be able on the federal holidays that are three or four day weekends, will i be able to go and see my gf out iin ca for those days or would they prolly make me send her to me?

it is not likely you will have a PoV, if you do they make you park it and make marks on your tires to see if it was moved. military regulation don't allow you to leave the training area or school for 72 or 96 hour passes more then 50 miles because of chance of hi-way death, awol, etc.. don't take cell phone or laptop unless you want it ripped off and it is also not authorized

Yes, you can have your phone and computer.

Yes, you will be able to have your car at some point.

Restrictions are lessoned the longer you are there.

NO you will not be able to go to california on a long weekend.

There are travel limits when not on leave status. About 250 miles)

Plus, while in training, don't expect 4 day weekends.

You will just get the day of the holiday off.

The military isn't the civilian world, where if a holiday is on thursday, you get friday off too.

Yes, you can fly your GF out to visit, when will depend on what your restrictions are.

IE: when you will no longer have a nightly curfew to have to be back in the barracks.

once you get to the right phase you may have anything the command says you can.

as for long weekends.. no you will not be able to go all the way to CA. that is far outside the mileage restrictions. you cannot take leave at all unless it is during the last 2 weeks of december.

dont count on being able to have your pov, but chances are you will be able to have your cell phone during your personal time. the laptop depends on what company you go to. Depending on your pass status and your platoon sgts, you might be able to fly to CA for long weekends, but not drive or take any ground trans more than 200 miles away.

Damn, I ***'d up joining the infantry back in the day...all I got for AIT was to wear my patrol cap and no steel pot or liner everywhere lol. I don't think cell phones were invented and we were to busy training anyway. GF used to mean "Government Furnished". I am glad I got to reclass to see what I was missing a few years ago....

I would just call ahead and see what the deal is depending on your MOS (which I didn't know) and get the current answers vs. hoping someone might give you it here.
