i am 17 and have always had the dream to become a United States Marine. when i was 8 i had heart surgery, the doctor spilled some chemical on my left lung and it does not work 100%.

You shouldnt have any problem. Any problems under the age of 12 usually doesn't disqualify you. |

If you can function to the requirements set out by the Marines, then yes. The best way to find out is to call up your local recruitment centre and enquire via them. Do the training exercises that are provided on the website, if you can manage them without much trouble then you can likely join.

They'll disqualify you for the dumbest things....if YOU know that you'll be fine with your lung then just don't tell them about it |

If he lies about a KNOWN medical condition and they find out he could be dishonorably discharged. I would NOT recommend lying, instead request a waiver from the recruiter and do whatever is necessary to get your doctors to prove you are clear. |
