Can i join the RE as a driver Then change to mechanic after 4 years?

the reason i ask is because i dont have the gcses to be a mechanic in the army but i was wornding if i serve 4 years in the army wolud they let me change to mechanic after 4 years or wolud i still need the gcses?

Firstly, changing trades means that once you apply you relinquish your current trade - and lose any trade pay which after 4 years you should be B1 driver or A2 driver specialist.
Then you still need the qualifications to go into the new trade but you can try doing them through the Army Education Centre, each garrison has one.
So, yes it's possible if you're willing to work at it.

That's tricky. You can join the Army as a 88 series and then get assigned to a unit that can provide OJT for mechanic. However, if you ever want to hold the MOS for a 63 series, you'll have to re-class which means attend some sort of course. You'll need the minimum scores to be able to attend any school. So, go ahead and join and retake the GCSES.
