I am a high school counselor with a need to serve. I want to be an Army Social Worker. I have a Masters in Counseling but having a Masters in Social Work is another animal. It would take me 2 years to this get this training. I would like for the Military to pay for the shooling.
I would be a reservist during the schooling, Correct? Then be activated after I am done?
Can any of the 'old warriors' tell where Army Social Workers are utilized? How are they utilized in Iraq and and Afghanistan?

I can tell you up front that despite your credentials, you will not be able to serve. The age limit for enlisting was 42, but due to the tightening of restrictions, the age is going to be lowered. On top of that, they let very few people become officers after the age of 32. You would really have to have a very specialized and/or technical degree to allow them to grant you a direct commission, such as a doctor or lawyer. |
