Can someone in the USAF answer my question?

If I am to pursue a BS degree as soon as possible right after I enlist, how should I go about that? I know the minimum term if 4 years. If I finish BMT/OJT and tech school in under 2 years since I already have an AS degree, am I able to apply/serve in ROTC during the last 2 years of my active duty service?

When you enter the Air Force you are automatically enrolled into the CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) and start earning credits towards the degree associated with your AFSC. It is up to you to pursue a 2nd degree of your choosing also covered by the military. By the time you have finished tech school you have almost earned half the credits towards the degree associated with your AFSC. |

I would recommend finishing your degree before you get into the military. Sure you have BMT/Tech School, but you also probably won't be able to do any college until you completely your upgrade training. Also, getting the program that allows you to ignore the rest of your active duty service and attend ROTC is incredibly competitive and only allows very limited career field (for the most part, just nursing).
And keep in mind, while your active duty, the mission comes first, not your education. If you sign up for the 2 year ROTC program, you will join the military, but your mission will be to complete your education. |

As soon as you finish your 5 level training,
You can apply for any commissioning programs, as long as you meet the requirements.
But just realize, very few people are actually chosen for those programs. |

There are officer programs once you join, but I'm pretty sure they are hard to get in to. Once you hit your three year mark Im pretty sure you can apply to go to officer school. But, if it's that big of a deal to you than why don't you just wait to join until you have your degree? |
