4 EASY STEPS TO WIN THE WAR ON TERROR

1- Avoid a communal conflict in India.

Loose statements should not be made ,even in emotion, against any community. Remember, the Pakistanis want a disturbance in India and donâ€™t play into their hands. If riots breakout in India it can lead to a civil war, and that will only hurt India.

2 - Intelligence and Defence Network.

If the USA has avoided a terrorist attack on its soil. Like India it has a huge coastline, large land borders, a democracy and people of all communities. Obviously it has a better intelligence and defence network. Efforts are already underway, so write to editors and journalists to take this issue up regularly.

3 - Anti Terrorist laws â€“

In order to make harsh laws, some fundamental rights will be curtailed, unfortunately some innocent Indian Muslims will suffer hardships. Any political party which takes the first step will alienate the Muslim community. And Hindu votes are divided. So no party takes the step to make these laws.

As a first step there should be mass public opinion gathered that the party which comes out with the most draconian anti terrorist laws will get their votes. Write to editors and journalists to conduct such a public awareness campaign. And then- Get Up And Vote !!!

THE FOURTH STEP IS TO BE SPREAD TO WHITE COUNTRIES

The point is not to create a communal conflict in India. But it is necessary that Public Opinion in White countries must be created against Islam. Third world countries are too weak to fight Islamic terrorism. Our only chance of survival is if First world countries unite, attack and destroy the infrastructure of most Islamic nations. Very first - Terrorism is NOT an ideology. We should fight with it in two ways - tactics and weapons.
Its no civil war in Mumbai so let the agencies do what they want to do.
But we should more equip for it.

TERRORISM: THE CAUSE AND THE REMEDY

The act which is only destructive and inflicts suffering both on oneself and others is terrorism. In such an act, human values are lost in the process of achieving a goal.

Some of the factors that lead to terrorism are:

* Frustration and desperation to achieve a goal
* Confused emotion
* Shortsightedness and Impulsive action
* Belief in a non-verifiable concept of heaven and merit; a childish concept of God favoring some and angry at others, thereby undermining the omniscience and omnipotence of the Divine.

Terrorism induces fear psychosis in all, increases poverty, suffering and loss of life with no apparent gains. Instead of solutions the terrorist looks for destruction as an answer. If you simply criticize without giving a solution, know that this criticism comes from the same seed as terrorism!

Although there are certain qualities you can appreciate in a terrorist such as:

* Fearlessness
* Commitment to a goal
* Sacrifice

You will have to learn from them things that you should never do:

* Valuing some ideas and concepts more than life.
* Having a narrow perspective of life and dishonoring its diversity.

The Remedy for terrorism is:

* Inculcate a broader perspective of life -- value life more than race, religion and nationality.
* Educate people in human values â€“ friendliness, compassion, cooperation and upliftment.
* Teach methods to release stress and tension.
* Cultivate confidence in achieving noble aims by peaceful and nonviolent means.
* Create spiritual upliftment which can weed out destructive tendencies.

First off all these mulsims should be eliminated from the face of the earth. I don't understand one thing. How can a God who created life tell people to kill each other????!!!!!!!

Well equipped arms and amenities should be given to our police and they should be well trained.

The terrorist now is no more a slogan shouting, â€˜madersaâ€™ educated gun firing fanatic but a well trained, motivated & educated young men. The attack was no simple terrorist strike but a well planned, well rehearsed urban gorilla attack. The police is not trained or equipped to fight such attacks and it was suicidal for the police to handle such contingencies. ATS chief and other senior officers of Mumbai police were suppose to plan and coordinate the operation and not lead the assault. They failed to realize the gravity of this lapse and orphaned the force. Their action left the police stunned, disoriented and helpless. At their level, it is not how good you are able to do a job but, how effectively you are able to get the job done. This has to be the motto of all senior ranking officers.
Whereas the intention is not to take the credit away from the commandos and we do feel happy that our commandos did a splendid job, but those commanding the operations must have some sole searching. Was it a professionally executed operation? We could not resolve hostage problem nor could we save the Taj building from just few terrorists even after 50 hours operation and heavy civilian casualties. Surely this operation needed better planning and training to our commandos. We must do an honest assessment and learn from serious mistakes committed in execution of this operation. It is wrong to think that providing aircraft to the force will resolve the issue. This will be utilized more for the pleasure trips of bureaucrats and politicians than for the training to improve the standards of the force. In Delhi, Government vehicles are used to ferry the kids of these fellows and by evening, it is their wife ferried to the mall or parlor.
Why not talk of unified command and utilize all resources under one common command. We witnessed utter confusion and disorientation till commandos arrived on the site. No one knew who is leading the operations. Why Air force should have its aircraft & Armey theirs. On top now BSF, RAW, state police and local Governments theirs. Pool all resources of skill, training and equipment to fight &combat menace of terrorism. On top of all this, we should have strong PM who should not sack his Home minister or CM, when they are needed most and not sack them when they were committing serious mistakes.
The threat of terrorism is serious and the problem is complex with no easy solutions. It needs serious discussions and experts should be identified to handle the issue rather then media trails.

Fighting terrorism with violence is a band-aid on a bullet wound. Violence will temporarily "fix" the situation and possibly spare some lives, but, like the first answerer said, terrorism is an ideology. The wound will keep bleeding until it eventually finds a route around the band-aid.

Terrorist have their own ideology and we have to change their belives.
One solution to that is education but to educate people you need to control them or they are ready for that. So intentionally or unintentionally you have to support violence .

2) If civilians have guns ...
No, I thought instead of civilians having guns, our police should be better armed to do their best, for which they are to 'protect civilians'. The situation may be worse if everyone is rooming with weapons or going to work with them.

3) Does the government..... tactical weapons...
We don't use military for our internal security, once again its police who will reach every terror attack site first not the NSG. So internal security structure need to be rebuild. (I am not saying we have not to upgrade our army. That have its own importance.

No doubt terrorism must be finished by killing terrorist, its the only way to curb it, like we did in Punjab ..... Gandhigiri is not solution for terrorism, we have so much tolerance that make terrorist consider us to be impotent.. Or else how they could have conceived that they will escape after attack â€¦.

Violence begets more violence and as Deepak Chopra states, it makes moderates into terrorist. It would have been a disaster if civilians had weapons and retaliated. There would have been chaos and unnecessary deaths. The police and commandos would also not be able to do their job and help the innocent people out to safety. Mumbai needs their own Emergency Response System and their own commandos. These commandos were flew down from Delhi, that is why it took so long. The security in Mumbai needs to be tighter and the Police do need to be in control. They did do well in a bad situation. Since there will be a new person in control of security, you can have hope that things will get better. Especially since Israel, U.S., Britian and Pakistan are all very interested in getting everything worked out so Intelligence can be strengthened.
