The Royal Airforce has over 1100 aircraft to the IAF's 700. The IAF does have some more modern fighters however nothing that comes close to the Eurofighter or Tornado in terms of ability and range. RAF pilots are also considered second to none in terms of training. You have to remember that we took on the Iraqi airforce and ground defences without losing anything, something that at the time was considered better than the Israeli one.

Besides, any war between us and Israel wouldn't just involve the airforce. Our combined armed forces could wipe the floor with them easily.

Well, the RAF and the Israeli Air Force have a similar amount of man power and fighters. however, the RAF has more technically advanced aircraft and better trained pilots. in addition, the support infrastructure of the RAF is too, more advanced. so yes, they probably wouldn't defeat the RAF. saying that, during the 6 day war, the Israelis were outnumbered and won, but then they had the technological advantage.

It's all about the tech, not the numbers, most of the israeli jets would be shot down before they were in range of british jets, especially if the Royal Navy had a few Type 45s in the area (look them up, they're the most advanced air defence platform in the world)

Considering they have better upgraded warplanes there's more chance they would down the 4th best airforce(the good ole USofA) than an airforce like the RAF-Borne To Fly,oh are you asking who is the Top Guns In at 3-Israel,at 2-Russia and still at No1 for 92 years the RAF.
@The idiot who said type 45-Israel have F14s,F16s,Mirage3s upgraded a few Mig 29s,also a couple of Saabs and other aircraft which were won in the 6day war,against Egypt,Syria and Lebanon also have tanks which are better than the Abramms or the Rhino(both Americans best).
We have got Harriers,Tornadoes,Typhoons,and a few more including a new Spitfire which by design looks fuccin awesome,oh the type 45 will be soon enough type 46 designated Tempest.

Israel has the best air force in the world none to less, the only nations who would defeat them in the air are America and Russia.

They have the best training.

Silly Arab countries? They defeated well trained well armed Arab air forces in the past. The only reason they won was because they bombed them without warning and the Arab planes weren't in the sky. It was only after that Israel had air superiority in the region.
