Can the NEW GI Bill.....?

Hello. I am an Army wife, my husband has been in for 9 years. He does qualify for the new GI Bill benefits but we were wondering if the GI Bill can pay off MY old student loans?
Any info is helpful! Thanks

He already has his degree and does not need his GI Bill.
And to the person telling me to get my own GI Bill, this is why the Army is doing this so spouses can go to school also and not accrue more debt.

The GI Bill does not pay off student loans. (Sorry) If he intends to remain in the service, and you would like to pursue more schooling, it will allow him to transfer his benefits to you. (Beginning August 2009.)

no. the GI Bill will not pay off existing loans. it can only be used when currently enrolled in classes. |

The GI bill is a benefit for military personnel. I don't think it pays for spouse loans. There may be other programs to help you though. |

If you want a GI bill then join the Army for yourself.
