Can you be a civilian doctor and a national guard combat arms officer?

I was in the Army, I am going to medical school now. I want to continue in the army but as an infantry officer. Is this allowed? That is, is there a conflict of interest between the Hippocratic Oath and the nature of combat arms? (Legally speaking only)

I have been out of recruiting for a while, but I would just recommend maybe not telling them you're a doctor. People with that level of expertise are in short supply and if you contract in and they find out they can just transfer your branch with no training cost... eh, I'd just keep my mouth shut and not turn anything in saying I have anything above a Bach degree.

No, there is not legal obligation to abstain from killing people. The only conflict of interest would be a moral one based on your personal beliefs, which do not influence the law. If you want to serve in the Army, they will gladly accept you (although you start with a higher rank if you go in as a doctor).
