i broke my back and was told i could never join the marines. i was also told if you have contacts you cant join the marines

Contacts, no problem. They worry about other eye problems. You just have to wear glasses during training and other situations.
Regarding your back, no one can really answer that on here. Go to military.com and look under discussion. Guarantee you there will be former recruiters, and especially important, current or former medical people who can answer. Bottom line though about your back is that it will be a case by case basis for that situation. Get with a recruiter and they will send in the paperwork to see if you need a waiver or if it is disqualifying. |

I hear from someone that they're making it a requirement to not have glasses and that they're offering free lasik for people with glasses soon. This could be wrong, but I heard this from a ex Seal/current sailor so it could also be right.

Yes you can have contacts in the Marines, they most likely will just give you glasses in Bootcamp, and if you are completely healed from the back injury then yes you can join. They really won't care, you might not even need to tel them |

Who told you that? A recruiter? If a recruiter told you then you shouldn't have even posted this cause they are right. They even want you to join real bad, so why would they lie to you about that. If it was someone else, just ask a recruiter to make sure. I would only beleive a recruiter. |
