Can you join the military if you were in juvie hall?

The military has become extremely picky because all of the branches are overmanned right now. So if you decide to go for it, expect to have to push for your job (i.e passing waivers and such). First you need to think of what branch you want to join, and have your past as a factor. The Navy and Air Force turn down more people for those things. You might want to look more into the Army or Marines. Also, make yourself as appealing as possible. Study for your ASVAB and do incredible on it. Lastly, know that because of your history, you are automatically disqualified for some jobs with high security clearances. In all, I would say go for it. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't, with enough determination you can basically do anything. Good luck :]

You will require waivers. There are factors that have to be considered such as how long ago, what kind of assault or battery, can you have it expunged etc. The only way to know for sure is to let them run it through and see what comes back.

I had a couple of assaults and related charges resulting from bar room fights including one I didn't even know about in a city I had never been too, but got through on a few waivers.

Being in juvenile in itself doesn't stop you, just like being in prison doesn't either. It depends on WHY you was locked up. If you went to jail for a few days for a misdemeanor then depending on the charge you may be able to get a waiver.

As for assault and battery, it depends on the level of the charge. Assault charges come in a non-traffic level, a misdemeanor level, and a felony level. If you was convicted at the felony level (which usually involves a deadly weapon) then no branch can touch you. If it was the misdemeanor or lower level then it depends on what branch you go to. It requires a waiver for the Army and we are still giving waivers for non-drug related misdemeanors. The other branches, not too sure.

i met people that had trouble with the law in the army with similar things so yeah i think your fine as long as you dont have a felony

You can't join with any felony or domestic violence charges, but even for misdemeanor charges you're going to need a waiver.

Probably not. The military has gotten very strict about who they let in. They're not accepting anyone with anything on their criminal record above jay-walking.
