Coast guard, if i wanted to do maritime security in the coast guard how would i do it.?

can you pick which job you do. what is the min age for maritime security, do you need expierence. can you join with a drug waiver.

Yes, you can select what job you do. The way we usually run things, you will enlist as what we call a "non-rate" where you don't have a specific rating or job. From here you can see all of the Coast Guard ratings in action - and talk to those that love their jobs and dislike their jobs - and make an educated decision as to what you want to do for the rest of your time in our fine service. So, you can definitely select what job you do.

Maritime security has no minimum age other than the minimum for enlisting in the Coast Guard (17.5 with parental approval, 18 without). No experience is necessary - we will provide whatever training you will need.

The problem arises with the drug waiver. We have so many people knocking on our doors to enlist that we don't NEED to do waivers to achieve our recruiting goals. I think you will have to score VERY high on the ASVAB to get a recruiter to even TRY to get a waiver through.
