Ireland would be a complete non-factor.. your entire military is about 8500 men, and the most powerful aircraft in your arsenal is a transport helicopter with door mounted machine guns.
Ireland is a great country with great people, it just isn't anything even close to a military power. |

Not a hope in hell. their population is 10 times the size of ours which means that they can deploy a weaponry far beyond our means.
It can be done of course and I point to Vietnam as an example. I for one have no wish to engage in a war of attrition with anyone. why are you sabre rattling. I would suggest that the only way to defeat the USA is politically which ultimately is how the Vietnamese did it. That takes a long long time. Idiot of the East has forgotten that there is not a unit in the British forces without a loyal Irishman in it as a well liked and respected comrade. Enemies I think not, Arguing friends often. |

Britain has the best special forces, the best trained army in the world.
Our RAF is second too none as is our NAVY.
But we are just too small. Europe are out of the equation as not many country's have a Professional army.
It would never come to that any way as Britain are still paying the USA for loans they got to fund WW2 and the USA are the best alias Britain could ever wish for.
The only war that america didn't actually win was vietnam and that was largely due to the fact that china was backing the vietcong and the americans were not used to jungle warfare. If u look at most of the other conflicts america has been involved in u will see they have been very successful both with and with out the UK support.
Also look what happened during the war off Independence. America kicked our ***. Mind u the "White house" still has the Bullit holes in it to prove it. fired by our royal marines. Don't think hat would happen Again though. |

Not possible. If all of Europe was against America alone.. maybe and just maybe. The Americans have the best Air Force, the best Navy and one of if not the best Army in the world.

Basically the Americans would only have a possibility of being defeated IF the fighting was on their soil. And even then the people of America have a will like none other that this world has seen.. they had it just after 9/11. They would band together and it would be nasty.
Even after Europe had defeated them.. they would still do raids and guerilla warfare.. that's what their country started on.
But why would anybody want to do that? Britain and America are awesome allies. They make a great team.
EDIT: America would get Israel's help as well.. realistically. Although Britain wouldn't get into a fight with America realistically.
America has a bad track record of getting into fights with small countries eh? The countries they are having a tough time with also hide amongst the civilian population.. And I don't believe they would have a problem with bombing the crap out of an enemy if they wanted to. But like I said, why don't you just stay friends? Best way to do it. |

If we had Ireland, I highly doubt that... Ireland are so small, within recent years and developments I reckon that the UK would beat Ireland... There would be no chance in hell we would beat the US. Unless of course we use our allies throughout Europe.
But the UK licks Americas bum hole so it would never happen :-P |

Given that Ireland doesn't have a proper air force, and no fighter aircraft, doesn't really have a Navy of any real size and only has a tiny army, I fail to see what use they would be against F-22's and cruise missiles.
