1. Finish college on your own time and apply for ECP.
2. Read the order on MECEP, figure out what you need to do to qualify and put together a package with help from a SNCO or officer.
3. Talk to a recruiter from the Air Force or Army and transfer to one of those services.
4. Get the highest cutting score you can and be patient.
5. Hardest but fastest: tell your NCOIC and OIC you want to be put up for a meritorious board. Don't waste their time though. Do this when you have done your MCIs, run a 285+ PFT, present an excellent military appearance, have the expected qualifications for your MOS, and have established a reputation as the go-to Marine in your section who is at work early and stays late. Some volunteer work and college classes wouldn't hurt either. Be part of the unit color guard. Volunteer for the Ball ceremony. Ask to go to your regional marksmanship matches. Be a MCMAP instructor. In short, be visible, in a good way.
I helped many Marines with meritorious boards as well as WO and MECEP packages and I had a good success rate, but the burden is really on the individual to prove he/she is truly a cut above their peers, and you want the SgtMaj, XO, CO etc. to know who you are. |

Its sad but the fastest way to get promoted is MCI's
You know the retardedly easy books that encourage cheating. Personally I believe the MCI system should be replaced with a test on your MOS similar to the air force
And pull-ups are the easist way to increase your PFT |

Either get meritoriously promoted, or get a higher cutting score. You should know how promotions work as a cpl. |
