My husband is deploying in mid july to afghanistan...but he still doesnt know for how long. he asked few SGTs already and some of them told him 12 months, and the others told him 15...how long do you think he will deploy?

12 months, they say 12-15 so that way they can hold him there those extra 3 months if they need him...which they might. God Bless your husband and I hope he comes safe.HUA! |

he will probably be gone for the 12 months. many of my family members have gone, and the longest one was my cousin and he is in the marines, and he was only gone for 12 months. |

No one really knows how long the deployments will be exactly until the date gets a little closer...then his superiors will have more information for him about his orders etc. The average deployment time would depend on what branch he's in, and what his field is. |

The way things look probably 15. I know it is hard on a marriage but be strong for his sake, he needs to stay focused on what he has to do and worring about you makes his job harder. Good luck and GOD BLESS both of you. |
