Hes been punished already by the USMC..and not even the Marines could prove that the dog was real..This is why his punishment did not involve a court martial and this is why he is being separated as opposed to being discharged....

Wow, 5th post today about an already dead dog! What was this dog's name you guys lamenate about? I remember people crying when the that horse died at the horse race last year. Did you care about these servicemembers who died who the insurgents threw grenades at, placed IEDs against or shot weapons at, these puppy killers?

Yes, but after viewing it a number of times I believe the object that was actually thrown was NOT a real puppy. I think I see where the substitution was made.

There are scumbags that would do that, and possibly even some in uniform ... but having spent a lot of time in uniform (21 yrs active duty), I'd be real surprised if this were anything other than a fake. Most other soldiers would beat the immortal cr** out of anyone they saw doing that.

Considering the second-level kind of punishment the kid got, I suspect his command thought it was also a fake, but in such despicable taste, and such a discredit to the uniform, that he got thrown out. One can only hope it was a Dishonorable Discharge.

I didn't see it - but did he throw it to clear his hands to get to weapons? Was he on the move and/or under attack? If so, it's called survival - him or the puppy - in that case, even me, being the dog lover that I am, I'd probably toss it and get moving.

Did you ever see video of troops shooting kids in 'Nam? - Our enemy would put a backpack of explosives on some of them and tell them to run toward us yelling "Daddy, daddy" - if they didn't - the VC would shoot them - if we didn't shoot them, they'd kill several of us when the explosive charge went off - the real nasty thing was - sometimes the pack was empty - you shot a kid for nothing - you don't know when they're running toward you - you have to save yourself and others - so you take the kid out - that's war people - our enemies don't play by rules - warfare is fought down and dirty -

Enemy troops sneak up to an area and listen for someone's name - then go back and broadcast "Smith, tonight we kill you!" - unnerving to say the least - "Smith, your little baby will never get to see it's daddy - give up now and live" - again this is the way the enemy fights -

All the good we do over there now goes unnoticed and purposely not reported by the biased mainstream media, which is borderline subversive - where's the other side of this Marine's story - what was he involved in before he tossed that puppy - if he did it just for sh*ts and grins - then yes, that's wrong - but let's hear his side before we condemn to public enemy #1.

I agree with Lavadog and Shock and Awe. There seems to be a lot of trolling today about this issue. I think a lot of things on video are not what they seem to be.

yes i saw the video, and ya it was horrible but what can you do but he does not deserve death threats everyday is a death threat in iraq i think thats punishment enough,
besides marines need to be able to kill, its how they defend our country....not saying that i agree with what he did im just arguing

yeah people say the puppy wasnt real BS you could hear it yelp. I'm a Military wife and I love our Military but that is cruel and horrible. Why would you do something like that to an innocent animal. I wish he'd get thrown off a cliff.
