The service academies, including the Air Force academy, are all extremely competitive in terms of entrance requirements and quotas. It is a 4-year college.
As to how I got in to the Navy, I walked into the front door of the recruiters office in Glendale AZ, took some preliminary tests, (Blew them away, obtw) then took my GCT/ARI (The precursor to the ASVAB) and scored damn near off-the-scale on IT. 6 months of delayed entry program later, I reported to RTC San Diego |

I am currently enlisted in the US Army, the best way to join the service is to talk to a recruiter...after talking to a trusted individual already serving in that branch. |

Talk to your high school counselor if you're still in school. If not, you need to know that you need a congressional letter of recommendation. Talk to your local congressman's office reps. They can help. Go to www.military.com and check out the site. They have links to the academy. Also, check and see if your local 4-year college has an ROTC (recruit officer training program) you'll get a lot out of it. Good luck. I was Air Force and loved it. |

Uhhhh College is a four year deal dope. Yes you can get an associates degree in two years, try transferring those credits to a four year college....you won’t be able to.
Call a recruiter. He/She will set you straight |

Well the Academy is a little different than just the military. I was going to say go find a recruiter. They would love to talk to you.
They have an admissions office. It is a pretty complicated procedure and you have to get a Congressman to sponsor you. (or at least you did 20 years ago) Here is the website: http://academyadmissions.com/
Good luck. |

Service Academies require a reccommendation from Senators, Representatives, and/or high ranking officers like a General. If you have a retiree in your family or have teachers with military backgrounds they're reccomendations help to. See if your can get everyone you can teachers, principles, pastor, to write a letter to your local congressman about your accomplishments and your desire to attend this academy and also write a letter of your own detailing your goal, desires, and why you should attend this school over other students...good luck to you |

Wen't to an Air Force recruiters office and signed up. One piece of advise, get a degree and then enter the Armed Forces. Remeber, trying to enter USAF Academy a part of a candidate's admission process is a nomination which is usually from a member of Congress from their home state. |

You better have great grades, close to top of your class and be in great physical shape.
Very difficult program to get into.
Mine was easier mid 60's USMC. |

You sound like a recruiter from the Military. Why don't you go back to where you came from and stop trying to brainwash new kids! War is evil, dangerous, and your expected to kill someone and cannot run away or the military will charge you under law if you suddenly get a consiounce later on!! |
