Depends on a couple of things:
1. Your AS VAB score - >50 AFQT
2. If you have a HSD - most bonuses are not open to GED holders
3. Is the job your selecting in a critical (bonusable) MOS - this changes almost daily
4. The number of years you enlist for - the longer you commit for the higher the bonus
5. In some cases your duty station/unit of assignment (are they getting ready to deploy?) can determine a bonus eligibility |

Enlistment bonuses vary depending on the job (called an MOS) you chose upon enlistment. Your recruiter will have the most up to date information pertaining on what MOS's have enlistment bonuses and what the amounts are. Vital MOS's often called STAR MOS's such as the combat arms MOS's almost always have a bonus to go with them. However, you must understand that you will not receive any of your bonus until you have completed your training and you arrive at your first duty station. You will also not receive it in one lump sum, it will be added piece by piece over you contract period in each monthly paycheck. The amount you receive will be reflected on your Leave and Earnings Statement (LES.) |
