Conranger 1...why don't you learn how to spell yourself??? It is "too" not "to". Go back to elementary school. He spends all day here trying to correct people's spelling instead of answering questions. He can't even spell right himself. This is the easiest word in the dictionary. |

Not sure. Yet, I can guarantee you that the aclu has probably guaranteed that the Isloamofascists get air conditioning down at Gitmo. |

lots of us get AC. In the Air force we all get AC and some US Army soldiers get AC but only on a few bases. As time goes on those commodities are slowly making their way over there.
And it has nothing to do with being officers or enlisted. The guy who took your serious question as an oppurtunity to bash rummy is a moron. |

There are some who do and some who dont. Most of the base camps have a/c. There are soldiers though who go out on missions and probably sleep without a/c. I have been twice the first time we didnt have it until about 6 months into the deployment and it was miserable. Most of us slept outside because our buildings and tents were too hot. After the first six months and my entire second deployment we had a/c but I cant speak for all soldiers. |

In Kuwait? Everyone sleeps in A/C tents (you can't sleep in 120 degree heat), same in Iraq; some even have 2 man "hooches" with electricity and A/C. |

My husband said they have ac tents now. They don't get to use them all the time, but they do get access to it sometimes. |

It depends where they are. In the more established bases they do. For the troops living in tents they have what is called a enviromental control unit, ECU for short. It is both a air conditioner and heater. It works really well too. When I was in the sand box we would sweat all day and freeze at night.
Not all troops have this available though. |

Many do have a/c but it depends on where you are, what your job is, how long you are going to be in that area, ect. |

Air conditioning? In a combat zone?
What the hell is the Army coming to; Cool berets for every r.e.m.f. stolen from the Rangers, who now wear crappy tan.
Combat experience badges for all non-infantry.
Stress-free basic training.
When I was in the Army, we had it rough, we didn't even get a bedroll in combat, we just slept on a poncho liner on the ground with bugs crawling all over us... |

Sometimes. It all depends on your missions, and where you are located. I was in Kirkuk a few years ago, and the guys living on the bottom floor in my barracks had AC, I didn't upstairs though, but I really didn't care because I got aclimated to the heat easier than they did. |

I think so |

Yes they do. even the tankers have air conditioning in the tanks &the humvee are air condition also. ok that bull" but some may have air. the REAR/ECHELON all so there may be a rest area were the line troops get to go for a brake every so often that is air condition. being a soldier is not easy, long hours doing a lot of thing you may not like over and over then do it again.you learn that there is" the army way" then there the right way" |

are you for real?? of course not,, they are in a foreign country and fighting everyday,, where would they get AC?? Those people do not have AC and our government is too cheap to provide that for anyone less than the generals!! I was a career electronics warfare technician,, I know... |
|

Bareasskmeagain

NO they go to sleep most of the time not even having a shower while the Iraqi government is going to take a two month holiday. Can you imagine... . . . . the US forces get shot at and and abused while the OVERLORDS take a well deserved brake. If only you had the b@lls to be there.
Those are some of the bravest people you will ever encounter anywhere on this earth. |

no they have not figured out how to get the air conditioning. hooked up to all of those little tent,s they try to sleep in. or in all of those fox hole,s |
|

Gotta have more explosions!
 |
I don't think so, and it wouldn't strike me as practical to have them do so.
Soldiers need to be acclimated to where they're deployed. It's fine to have the comforts of home to improve morale, but being comfortable in the combat zone is more important to being comfortable in the rear. Virtually anyone can get used to the heat given an amount of time, air conditioning wouldn't help that. |

yes, of course and they have personal valets for their hummers and home cooked meals served by dancing girls. |
