You are required to pay the proper respect to ALL officers.
Don't go saluting in the field, otherwise you'll soon have a shortage of officers. |

During WW1, they actually EXPECTED Australian soldiers to salute their officers, even though they allowed the Australians to get slaughtered at Anzac Cove, at Gallipoli, on April 25th, for which we commemorate by having a public holiday.
And we still are part of this useless thing called "the Commonwealth". |

Don't know about the Brits, but American soldiers are required to render proper military courtesy to military officers of other nationalities. |

well it depends on what there addresses are. but the answer is yes you have to recognize their rank structure. |

we worked with brits a few times. we had no idea what their rank system was so we just called all of them "bud" or "dude" or whatever. luckily they didnt know ours either so if you were an american you were refered to as "chap" and if you were a brit you were called "dude" more or less.
we're supposed to adress them as their ranks, but we didnt know and werent working with them for a long enough time to where anyone woud really care. |

not if the Brit is a woman - then it is Ma'am.
heck of a time figuring out their rank, so better safe than sorry. The same can be said of them.
