First, I'll just say that I know I won't change your mind, and nobody else on here will either. Not there is the intention to change minds on here...just people giving their thoughts. But the debate will go on forever. Both sides will always think they are right. And personally, there's things I support Bush on, and things I don't support him on.

Bush sent our troops to go to war. If any individual troops did any of what you said, it would be their wrong decision as individuals (and not that all of our troops would do that...they go to do their job, follow their orders and go after the enemy, not civilians). Bush did not send troops to wage war against civilian Iraqis. However, a terrorist leader sent brainwashed followers to the US to kill our civilians. Bush would have looked worse as a president if he didn't declare a war against the terrorists. We were attacked, so we had to fight back.

If anyone, Hussein should be charged with war crimes going back to Desert Storm. As far as his involvement with funding 9/11, well, the terrorists and Hussein both hate the US...so that makes Hussein dangerous. And he had all that wealth to fund any evil cause. As for whether or not he had WMDs, it doesn't have to be a collection of missiles hidden somewhere. He used chemical weapons in the past. That can kill a large number of people, so that's WMDs right there. And besides, why did Hussein feel the need to hide out in a spider hole if there was not guilt on his part?

I'll give you credit, though...that at least your question was one of current events instead of some blatant racist or perverted question.

It is people like you that have forgotten hundreds of Americans jumping out windows 300 meters above ground to escape fire after the airplanes flew into the towers in NYC on 9/11.

It is people like you that have forgotten the thousands of Americans who have sacrificed their lives for your freedom.

It is people like you who have forgotten the loss of over 200 Marines in Lebanon in 1983.

It is people like you who have forgotten the 99 Americans blown-up in Saudi Arabia.

It is people like you who have forgotten the Rangers that died in Somolia, and Americans dragged through the streets.

It is people like you who have forgotten that Americans stood up for an Islamic land and kicked the Iraq Army out of Kuwait.

It is people like you who have forgotten the brave men and women sacrificing their lives in natural disasters.

It is people like you who have forgotten the defense contractors escorting humanitarian workers in Iraq, ambushed, burned and hanged on a bridge.

It is people like you who want freedom and democracy but cry when it doesn't go their way.

No one except the prison scandal has been found guilty yet in a court of law.

Don't believe our liberal media. They would rather show a soldiers dying, than a soldier giving first aid or building a school.

And if the soldiers are found guilty in a court of law for rape, then they will be punished.

If your an American, you really need to re-look at your values, and be thankfull for what you have...if not then go to Canada.

As for charging the President of the United States on the crimes you mentioned...........IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Are you dumb? He cannot personally control the actions of individual soldiers. He went to war with a country and that's it. That's a completely legal action amongst countries. Just because the UN doesn't agree with it, let's just say that the UN isn't god like they think they are, and they have very little power to do anything. They are not the deciding voice of this country, we are. So lets stop allowing them to control us.

NO!!!! Now if you were asking about SADDAM -- YES!!! he Definitely committed War Crimes!

By the way, where do you get your information -- Troops can NOT be deployed anywhere by the President withOUT the approval/notice of Congress -- so NO, George Bush did NOT force the issue. This was a matter of a Terrorist Attack on the US by TERRORISTS who threaten the American Way of Life and AMERICANS -- and War is declared.

No I don't think he should be charged with war crimes. What is with people. They want a strong leader that won't back down in times of trouble and say they should be strong enough to take a stand then when he does and people get hurt they say nobody should get hurt. No I don't want people to die but if it means keeping idiots from coming over here and pulling another 911 or keeping idiots that like to die to kill FREE people like us than I stand behind him all the way. People get hurt in war-its a part of war. Our men fight for a cause because they choose to. Nobody made then go they volunteered. There is no draft anymore. I think he has guts. People need to stand behind there president. Besides do you really think he makes all the big decisions alone? There are people among the whole political system that help with these decisions..Republican and Democrat alike. Be for real has there ever been a president that was perfect? I can't think of one. I wave my flag proudly and take my freedom seriously. I back all the soldiers at war and hope they come home safely.

The answer is no until you cite the Law of War you think he violated and provide some evidence.

I would also argue that he did not premeditate nor order the killing or rape of women and children. I do not ever remember receiving such orders either time I was there. The precautions and restrictions we are under in order to prevent such unnecessary deaths actually place us under greater danger.

You can say you support the troops all you want, but what you just said, undermines what they are dying for over there. Just think, if you were over there, you could not and would not have the freedom of speech that you do here, or if so, you take the chance of your family or you getting shot for doing so......What a stupid thing to insinuate that President Bush is a war criminal....Obviously, you need to go back and learn exactly what a war criminal is. When you do, apologize to all of our troops for saying that they are dying for nothing. My son is over there. Be thankful you aren't. If we sent people with your opinion over there, god only knows that that is where you all belong. Then, our innocent young soldiers can come home.

of course not. are you crazy? you always gonna have some collateral damage. since you said you support the troops, and it's the troops that's doing the raping, I think you should be charged with war crimes for supporting immoral behaviors.

there could be weapons of mass destruction or not. i would support the war in either case. it's better to invade iraq early and while they are weak rather than wait for weapons to be developed, which may lead to even more innocent deaths.

The decision to go to war in Iraq was very clear to the American public prior to the vote in 2000. Mr. Bush at the
time stated that he felt that we needed to go to Iraq and put
Saddam Hussein out of power. This was before there was
a 911. Using that as a reason isn't true because the intent
was clearly stated prior to that time. Those who voted for
Bush had this knowledge and knew what they were voting
for. If they didn't they had their heads in the sand. During
the Presidential debates with Al Gore Mr. Bush made his
intentions very clear. The vote could not have been more
close and the election was thrown by the courts who did
not allow for a complete counting, but it appears that it
was in Bush's favor but by a very very slim margin. The
next election confirmed the public will to continue the
course in the region.
The murder of innocents in the country should be
dealt with, but the overall mission was the result of
calculated decisions. There were leaders in both American
parties who believed that there was a significant threat
to peace in Iraq to be dealt with.
What we have done now in terms of impacting the
middle east is to upset the balance of power such that
the deterrent of a possible strike from Iraq being removed
has left open the door for first Syria followed by radical groups in the area (Hezballah) and now Isreal to enter Lebanon and has led to major conflict in that region for control. This is not the only factor, but it is possibly larger than we realize.
Why were we allowed to go into that area? It has been said
in prophecy of the Bible that the country of Babylon during the
reign of Nebachadnezzer would never be ruler of the world.
Their day was done and part of the prophecy said that the
ancient city of Babylon would remain desolate. Mr. Saddam
was attempting to rebuild the city and digging out the ruins
of this ancient city. But now I'm not sure what has become
of any effort in that direction. Perhaps this defiance of divine
mandate allowed Mr. Bush and the power of the Eagle to step
into that land. Consider prior wars against their land as warnings.
Regardless of who you see as responsible for these matters
realize that there is a higher power that will ultimately rule and
judge the leaders of this world. There will be an accounting for
Mr. Bush as well as for Saddam and the leaders in all areas of
the world. The Lord himself will desend with a shout with the
voice of the archangel, the kingdoms of this world will cease
and the Lord will reign and deal justly. There may be a human
judgement for what has gone on for all sides in these regions,
but ultimately the Lord Himself will see to it that these matters
are dealt with. God has the records and he will leave no stone
unturned in his judgement. It will be fair and all encompassing.
Trust in the Lord in this matter.
God is judge of all I trust in Him. The founders of our
nation realized this and wrote it on their currency. We do not
trust in the wealth in our nation, but realize all we have comes
from God and we trust in Him. Leave this matter to God. He
alone knows and understands the hearts and motives of our
leadership in their decisions.
The news media has been presenting the atrocities and the
disasters of the war, but has not shown a lot of the positives
going on over there to rebuilt their country. I have known soldiers who have been there who tell of building up schools and the
basic infrastructure such as sewer and water systems. These
are systems for the people there. The oil production has fallen
since the invasion and this needs to be restored to increase production, lower world oil prices, and to use for the rebuilding of
their own country. There is much to be done to improve these
things. We ultimately need to get ourselves out of their business and let the people of Iraq determine their own destiny apart from
foreign intervention, but at present they are dependent on us for
their security and to prop up the regime that we have helped to
foster in conjunction with their own people. Do not forget that
there was a free election which while under occupation was a
chance for the people to express their will in terms of the leadership. It may not be perfect, but it is a step in that direction.
The peoples there are used to being under a heavy handed
leadership of Saddam and perhaps that is their culture and their way, but as it rests they have had a chance at democracy if
the people of the region desire it. You have to credit Mr. Bush
with providing this opportunity and it is up to the people of Iraq to grasp hold of it and move forward with it if they wish to have a democracy there. Just imagine what the young people of China in Tienamen square would think if they had this opportunity to change the course of their nation. They tried to do so by way of public speaking out, but were cast down. It is said that the people could make the changes if they wanted to, but when that is all they know and they do not have the power or the tools to make changes. There have been attempts to change the system there and it was put down and this is part of the crimes Saddam is being charged with. It has required foreign intervention to allow these changes to happen whether you agree we should be there or not. Let us be careful in our judgement of those in office as there is much in the mix and we must trust in God to make the final call.
The issue of war itself and whether this should be resorted to to make changes is a major part of your question and another question that you didn't ask, but this enters in here. Is there such a thing as a just war. War by its very nature is ughly and there are always negatives and innocents who get in between the warring factions who get hurt. I do not agree with all that has been done in this war either, but it was a decision made by more than just our president. The electorate, the legislature and the courts have been involved in the matter. Mr. Saddam was allowed to go just so far in his regime. What will come of him is yet to be determined. Should our country impose itself upon another nation. That is something I'm not sure we should need to do in general, but for some reason it was decided to go in there and take over their country and push our values upon them. There are areas where I feel we have gone a bit too far in here, but if we didn't what are the alternatives? Afghanistan was a response to 911 in defense of our freedom. Iraq was a whole different issue made by Mr. Bush long before he declared himself a candidate for president. Mr. Bush made that decision and led our nation into the battle and we supported him in it albeit by a very slim margin. What were the real behind the scenes motivations for entering Iraq? This has never been fully explained. WMDs was only part of the equation and not really what its about. Some will say it is about oil and big money interests, and maybe that is a factor in the equation, but I rather suspect there are other reasons as well. The fact that Bush Sr. did not continue the war and push Saddam out of power was used by many especially comedians joking calling Bush Sr a wimp and perhaps this is a reason to attempt to restore pride in the Bush name as a leader and not someone to be bullied around. Bush's stated reasons are that Saddam had capabilities to threaten his neighbors and most of that did not seem to be true although I do believe that he did have more WMDs than were found or proven to exist possibly having been diverted to adjacent countries just before the invasion. Fact is Bush wanted to go there for whatever the reason, and managed to persuade enough of the rest of us to go along with it to get his way through the hoops. Was his selling based on good reasons and facts, that is up for debate and part of your issue here as to whether he should be charged with crimes in the war. So far this has not been shown enough to cause him to be recalled. But it might if such evidence turns up. The courts and legislature are charged with checking out such things. If you have a president that has a program that you don't agree with yet, he sells it to the rest of the country and we follow it does that mean we later impeach him if the program fails? We do not have all the facts on it but the Lord does and therefore He is worthy to do so. Now it is up to God to be judge of this man like past presidents before him. God will deal with it.
May God bless through it all and His name be praised. It has been a long and involved conflict, yes and hopefully it will end
soon and our troops can be home, but for the present this is
the course of the nation and of our leadership.

When discussing a leader, it should be in terms of the broader picture. Should he be charged with a war crime for invading and occupying a sovereign country (Iraq) which was no threat to us, based on tailored intelligence and outright fabrications? Yes, most definitely.

You are correct, it has nothing to do with whether you support the troops. It concerns dealing with a corrupt and wreckless leader and his cabal/administration.

Answerman
You forgot the torture of prisoners and the whole gitmo situation. Yes, he should be on a plane for the Hague right now along with his Vice President and cabinet. No one should be so powerful as to be above the law.

Yes. But not the ones you mention.

Bush has admitted to violating and to ordering violations of the Geneva Conventions, actions which are defined as war crimes under federal law (18 USC 2441).

The US Supreme Court has also confirmed these violations. So, not only has be proudly admitted to breaking the law, the highest court in our country has confirmed it. What more do people want?

Article II Section 4. "The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."
