Yes. At times if you are deployed with units that are under staffed they will use soldiers from other MOS's with in the unit to fill the empty spaces on convoy's. But don't freak because it doesn't happen all of the time and you have to be with a unit that doesn't have alot of troops to go around.

Depends on what you are asking. If you are asking if they deploy to combat zones like Iraq of Afghanistan then yes. If you are asking if they go out and fight like infantry then it is highly unlikely. Most people who work on computers in combat zones will stay on their base. But simply saying "computer job" doesn't narrow it down. Almost every job in the Army right now uses computers in some shape, size, or form. Most vehicles have computers in it right now to help complete the mission. But jobs that specifically deal with it may or may not be needed off base. As a finance or personnel clerk you would rarely leave the base but as a fire direction specialist you may be needed to fight.
