Do prior service members have to go through AIT or OUST in the Army?

I was in the Marine Corps for 4 yrs and did my 4 IRR and now I joined the Army. In the Marines I was a 0352 and I want to do 11m in the Army.

I was active for 4 years and IRR for 4 years and i was oficially out in Nov 08.

Most likely the Army will make you a TOW Gunner so that they wont have to retrain you. It is more econimical for the Army. I was a artillery crewman in the Marines, joined the Army wanting to be in the Infantry but they said I could only be in my old MOS. So good luck. If they do let you change to 11M you will have to go through AIT for that MOS.

If I'm not mistaken, if you've been out less than 5 years, you need not repeat basic training.

depends on if your specialty in the marines is the same as the Army, also for OSUT it depends on how long you have been out, if only 4 years then I doubt it, when you go to MES it will all be in there before you sign though.
