Or do they might let it slide under the table just because they have to meet a quota of recruits to get their bonuses or pay or whatever it is that they get by recruiting more people?

Organize a meeting with your recruiter - show that you're taking RESPONSIBILITY and doing the RIGHT THING... It's best to do it right now at the beginning so you can put things straight.
1) Show you are concerned and that you care
2) Show that you really want to join the navy
3) Tell them the truth - it's not even a huge deal. It would be a big deal if you killed someone but didn't tell them lol.
4) make sure its face to face contact, and ask what you should do FROM the recruiter and he will be more likely to help you - it doesnt sound like you signed anything /swore oath yet so it's not late. |

Do we care ? Slightly, but your only hurting yourself. If you lie about a criminal record they will find out when they do a background check for a security clearance and you will be tossed out. Same goes for lying on the medical pre screen form.
We don't get any bonus for recruiting people. We usually have a quota of 2 per month and that's not hard to do. We don't need to lie to people for them to join the military. |

Recruiters get nothing extra for the people they enlist.
Yes they care if you lie. They are vouching in a way.
The military is about integrity and honor. |

Yes. Or you will be charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for Fraudulent Enlistment if your service finds out later. It's very unlikely, but it does happen. |

Of course they don't mind. Dishonesty and a lack of integrity are the traits they're looking for in potential Navy personnel. DUH! |

I was never a recruiter, however, I am sure my shipmates would no appreciate being lied to.This is not the most glamourous of occupations, but,the spend their time trying to find the best personnel to enlist into the Navy. |
