You Want Some Action on that question: Ask the Marines that were there... Especially D."Bing" B. assault-man 0359 he was there all of 6 weeks before "Chuck" put a chi-com mortar in his back pocket.
Log in as a Marine here and ask it on their Marine forum. www.togetherweserved.com.
Its not an official Marine web site (it is owned by a millionaire Non-Marine oilman who lives in Beverly Hills CA. in a 3 1/2 Million dollar home) but those Marines there that pay 14.95 per year think a Marine owns it, have fun.
Let us know what happened... |

And how do you explain the fact that the South Vietnamese people had their right to self-determination taken from them when they were invaded and conquered by the North Vietnamese years after they signed a cease-fire?
BTW - have you ever talked to anybody who had to flee S. Vietnam to avoid being murdered or sent to a 're-education' camp? |

the vietnam veterans did not lose the war.... it was the idiots who were running the country that lost the war.... |

I have to respectfully disagree. The service members did not lose the war. The government that did not enough to support them and set them up for failure lost the war. |

You are a punk who has never heard a shot fired in anger! I am a Vietnam vet of more than five years total time, and we "lost" that war because wimpy candy-assed politicians like you wanted to attach "rules" just like they are trying to do now. An IRON FIST wins wars. Read your history books, liberal. |

It is hard to admit for the losing side that they have lost, america's goal was to stop vietnam from becoming communist state, even they carved out South Vietnam as capitalist thnking that they will continue fighting commies, but when US withdrew, both were united to make Communist Republic of Vietnam
US withdrew coz they were taking too many casualties and war was going nowhere |

Do gutless protesters realize they lost the vietnam war for the U.S. while getting thousands of U.S. soldiers killed?
Thankfully, we have a President who won't let history repeat himself because a few ignorant protesters scream louder than the rest of this country. |

ive talked with quite a few veitnam veterans, and what they say is surprising. we had a lot of victories and we had better training and weapons. what surprises me is how people (like you) blame our veterans for the outcome when all they did was fight. The US government was too soft and in wars you have to be totaly fast and ruthless, willing to take no prisoners. thats a problem the US faces now. when we did the Shock and Awe, we not only gave Saddam a 24 hour heads up, we didnt cripple the country. instead we bombed empty government buildings. thats whe happens when the government tells the military what to do. |

You're a BOOGER SNOODLE!!! No need for the history lesson, most of know the facts. Are you sure you know the facts? What do you know about making sacrifices? Most of those veterans served their country under draft. GO HIDE UNDER A ROCK!! |

The Australian forces who fought in the war are scarred for life. Sadly we went to war to support America and our troops came home to no recognition. They were conscripted, they didn't want to go, but so many have taken their lives since. That was a war that should never have happened. |

Were you asleep in U.S. History class? Have you done any research at all into the beginnings or endings of the 'Viet Nam Era'? Have you interviewed any VN Vets? What 'recovery' are you talking about? What planet are you from? |

US Military did not lose the war, the politicians lost the war.
50+ thousand US soldiers gave their all, and should never be disrespected.(remember the majority were drafted, unlike today where we have an all volunteer military)
All gave some, Some gave all. |
