They are going off to ensure that we, our neighbors our children and our relatives, will not be killed by others. For that, we pray that they succeed.

What sane person would not wish them success and invoke whatever divine or worldly aid to their mission possible?

I don't believe that God only loves people in America. I do believe that God has BLESSED America, thus far, and I do hope and pray that He continues to do so.

And yes, we should pray for our troops. They volunteer to defend our country, and if nothing else, we should pray that their family members, spouses, and friends never have to know the grief of losing their child, sibling, spouse or friend while they're serving our country.

It's honorable, but it doesn't mean I want my husband dying in Iraq.

God loves everyone. I pray for people in other countries, not just our troops. There are countries where owning a Bible is illegal. I pray for those who don't have the freedom to worship as they please as we do here in America.

Tough question for those of us struggling with faith. I went to Vietnam in '68-69. I was a combat infantryman. Our only purpose was to kill men and women we did not know.It seems as though God exists only where we put him, and he doesn't exist when things go sour. God loves everyone,something like a father loves his children. God can only do what is right. No one (mortal) can understand everything God does. I THINK God punishes us for our sins but He does it by putting us thru trials. We become closer to God when we are troubled. God wants you to be close to Him but it is your choice. Wars are necessary but horrible. As the old adage goes-there are no athiests in foxholes.

I know it makes no sense. I don't believe in God because of all the hypocrisy. It is all so unfair and wrong.

Belief in something is what we need. I'm not so sure god is the answer, but that is just me.
