Do women belong in the military or the kitchen?
Find answers to your legal question.

Do women belong in the military or the kitchen?

I strongly believe that women weaken our military in combat situations. Women should be restricted to nurse, doctor, counselor, chaplain, and other positions off of the front lines. I am not anti-feminist, women should have careers, goals, and individuality all the equality freedoms but, it is just a realistic view that women weaken our combat position. God gave us little feet so we could stand closer to the stove. :). God gave men strength to ensure our kitchens can remain safe from harm both foreign and domestic.
Additional Details
I'm not saying that all women should be banned from the military. There are plenty of women out there that can hold their own but, most of them can't hold their own and a bunch of troops. Women should have be strategically placed in non-combat positions like intel. Face it women we are (GENERALLY speaking) smarter than men and thats where the majority of us belong. Either the military should stop placing women in combat positions or they should start holding them to the same physical standard as they do men (pushup, pullup, situps, runtime, etc).

hey kitty kitty

Many men have died serving this great nation, but without the foreboding of their mothers there would probabaly be no US. Women serve an important roll in growing MEN. Without woman men would not be able to fight. So in a way women are fighting in "combat situations" all the time. Absolutely, Women should have careers, goals and the oppurtunity to test their limits. But man i love me a woman that can cook.

G6er
I think there are some really strong women out there..
Personally, I don't have a problem with women in law enforcement, Firefighting, or military.. but i believe that it shouldn't be based on "quota" it should be based on performance.
There should be a physical test.. the test is designed to ensure that the BEST people are selected for the physical jobs. If a woman passes the test, then she is qualified to do that job.

ONE test, ONE job.

having a test for women and a test for men, and having quotas Sets equality backwards, not forwards.

Oh lord...wanna join the new century along with the rest of us?

Apparently YOU have not been deployed, in a combat situation, and probably never in the military. Until you have, don't tell those of us who are or have what we should and shouldn't do.

I wouldn't say they're incapable, but females are for the most part weaker physically and physically less able to carry out the feats that our troops can. Look at the NBA and the NFL there are no women and there never will be, because men are just superior athletes, that's the way we're made. Women have their place in society, and it's not definitively in the kitchen, but I don't think it would be on the battlefield either.

Beardog
We don't fight with swords anymore kiddo, it doesn't take that much upper body strength to pull a trigger.

Besides, there's kitchens in the military too. ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually I agree with the above poster, as long as the standards are measured equally, I think women should be allowed to do anything they're capable of.

Randy- I believe that women should be what they want to be. Women now are allot stronger in all aspects of live, may it be in the kitchen or military. It is a woman's choice if she belongs here or there. But still that doesn't mean that a woman, by joining our military forgets how to create an amazing dish in the kitchen. Women now are doing things that men wont even think about doing and that makes women very strong powerful and more connected.
No mather what a woman does from house wife or joining or military she is still a woman.

Tell that to Leigh Ann Hester.
On March 20, 2005, near Salman Pak, Iraq:
Hester's squad of two women and eight men in three Humvees was shadowing a 30-truck supply convoy when approximately 50 insurgent fighters ambushed the convoy with AK-47 assault rifle, RPK machine gun fire and rocket propelled grenades (RPGs). The squad moved to the side of the road, flanking the insurgents and cutting off their escape route. Hester maneuvered her team through the "kill zone" and into a flanking position, where she and her squad leader, Staff Sergeant Timothy F. Nein, assaulted a trench line with hand grenades and M203 grenade launcher rounds. Hester and Nein assaulted and cleared two trenches. During the 25-minute firefight, Hester killed at least three enemy combatants with her M4 assault rifle.
When the battle was over, 27 insurgents were dead, six were wounded, and one captured. Sergeants Hester and Nein were both awarded the Silver Star. Nein's was later upgraded to the Distinguished Service Cross.
Also awarded the Silver Star in this ambush was platoon combat medic Specialist Jason Mike, who took up and simultaneously fired an M4 assault rifle and M249 SAW light machine gun in defense of his comrades.

Hey, the 1950s are calling. They want their ideas back.

i am male, i believe that certain women should NOT join the military who have, however there are some who strengthen the army, who do their duty without interfering with men's minds so it all depends on the woman.

I AM WOMAN, AND I BELONG ANYWHERE I WANT TO BE. if you chose the kitchen, great, if you chose military , great. it is an individual choice and no one has the right to put anyone down for the choice.
woman has allowed men/ and other women/ to make what they do trivial for long enough.
did you know that cooking is an advanced science. when you put ingredients together and they change the texture and the use of the ingredients that is science. women have done this since time began and are still told they do not belong in a lab.
women are better than men at multi tasking. their small hands allow them to work smaller objects than men. women have better reflexes in emergency situations than men and respond quicker.
combat is no longer a question of strength but more of adaptability, and women adapt quicker and with less stress than men. we cry, howl, get mad, and then move on. men like to wallow in the past.
now do you want more or is that enough.
i am a widow, a mother, a grandmother and i have had a great life. i am self employed and earn a good living because i had a husband with the common sense to know that i could do it and would with or without him. he prefered with.

they should be kept out of all situations where physical upper body strength is required, and where emotional hysteria will have no chance of arising.

All convoys and columns of men and machine are only as good and as fast as the weakest and slowest link.

If you have 60 men charging up a hill and one woman, you don't have 60 men charging up a hill anymore. You have 60 men half-assing up a hill waiting for the chick.

Obviously you've never met a woman from the Israel Defense Force. They could beat the **** out of 90% of the guys I've met.

This is just my two cents, but women belong wherever their goals take them, because we're just as good as men.
On a biological level you could say that men are physically stronger then us, and theres no denying that, but women can do whatever job they want, as long as they get the job done.
And to be honest, anyone who willing goes over to fight in a war is really, really brave because they know what they could be getting into over there. Anyone who goes over there is worthy of respect.
Going back to the biological level, men are physically stronger so they can protect their pregnant mate because children are essential to the continuation of species.
I get what you're saying, but its my understanding that women (as said before) can do whatever career they want to or take any job, as long as they get it done right.
Thats just my take on it, though.

Little feet so we can be closer to the stove. LMFAO.

You obviously no nothing about the military.

EDIT: In todays wars there are no front lines. All service members have basic combat skills for a reason. The comment about a women moving a man with a combat load and being around 300lbs. I know quite a few males who wouldn't be able to move you either. Aderaline in a combat zone can really be pumping and in most cases if you are still under attack you can't go out and move anybody at best you can apply first aid.

When you have worn the uniform yourself you can say something until then stay in the kitchen yourself.

Apparently youve never been in the military,i know women in the military and i gaurentee that they would hurt you badly.expecially women in the Isreali defense forces, and the united states marine corps.women are capable

Im not even a woman and the words i have unfortunately just read make me angry. You know what I just realized? This is serious too, not a joke. I just realized that i have a very low tolerance for people who are ignorant.
Like you are probably a pretty nice person, but i am finding my anger towards you unwavering at the moment.
Try this one on for size: God didn't make women week, Society makes women week. Have you ever seen those women body builders before? Any one of them could kick my a$$ easy. So women obviously have the capacity to be strong and when put through Military boot camps they become strong.
Thats all i got

id say women should be aloud to fight in combat, i hear what your saying but i think that we should be given the same oppertunities as men. to denote women in military, i feel denotes them in everyday life and gives men another reason to think we are weak, i had aunts and female cousins, fighting for our nation, you want to tell them they weakened our armed forces, i dont think so.

The White Foxy Brown
I know some women with pretty big feet.

i think white women belong in the kitchen because they are weak and servile; they are born to be dogs to men. women of color, on the other hand, belong where they will go. they are strong both physically and mentally and dont have to rely on men for protection or meaning. personally i prefer an ethnic woman because in my experience they have a helluva lot more spunk, spine and strength than the typical puling white woman white dudes seem to prefer.

maymay
women are helpers to men, so wherever men go, women can go. we have women with determination, power and strong will
