No! The best case scenario would be our troops will be significantly reduced by as much as 80%, but a force would have to remain in order to hold stability. It is almost certain if our troops leave the region altogether, other opposing nations will attempt to exploit Iraq's new government by provoking civil unrest and political chaos. As long as the U.S. faces political threats from surrounding nations, we will have to retain presence in Iraq for many years to come. As conditions there hopefully improve, assignments there should be similar to deploying troops in other nations in the region such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc. |

Who knows what will happen by 2010 - a lot can happen in two years!
Two years before 9/11, nobody envisioned that the "War on Terror" would even enter our vocabulary... |

Maybe it looks like that is the case but the need for troops(deployments) is going to be here for a while. |

If Obama is president then yes they will be out of Iraq by 2010. But the bad news is they will just get shipped to Afghanistan and stay there for 10 years. A lot of people dont know that when Obama says "lets end the war in Iraq" he also needs to say "and start the war in Afghanistan" |

They will start to transfer troops over to Afghanistan, but the U.S. Military has already stabilizing Afghanistan to be a much easier task than fighting the Insurgency. Maybe a year or so of a hard crackdown of Afghanistan , such as the surge in Iraq, and they will slowly but surely bring down the numbers of troops we have stationed in the two countries. |

No you can't just walk away from something like that, it may take many more years for the USA to clean up the rest of what they started, I think they should bring things back to where they started and bring our jobs home and make USA products again and trade, instead of handing over all of our ideas and creation to other countries, that way all countries will have something worth trading, there fore would need to get along for business |

Yes & No.
I'm under the assumption that non-combat assignments last longer than combat ones..
Most troops will be moved out and the ones that are left will be administrative and training. |
