Do you have to been extremely intelligent to join the Marine corp?

I think you need to get at least a 32 on your ASVAB to get in. So basically, you need to spell your name right and be able to sign it.

ASVAB Score - Marine Corps recruits must score at least 32. A very few exceptions are made (about one percent) for some exceptionally otherwise qualified recruits with scores as low as 25.

Education - As with the Air Force, those without a high school education are ineligible. The Marine Corps limits GED enlistments to no more than five percent per year. Those with a GED must score a minimum of 50 on the AFQT to even be considered.

As with the other services, the Marine Corps offers advanced enlistment rank for college credits. However, of all the services, the Marines are the most restrictive in this area. The maximum advanced rank for college credits is E-2, where the other services will give college credit advanced rank up to E-3 (E-4 in the Army).

I took that straight from GOOGLE. Go to Barnes and Noble and get a book that will help you prepare for the ASVAB. Or any bookstore. It has mock questions and mini tests in it. This will help you prepare and understand what the test is all about.

Well just judging by your grammar, I'd say you are a perfect fit.

You take a ASVAB test and if you pass it then you may enlist if you qualify.

When you take the test this will tell you what jobs you can and can not do.

You do not need to be "extremely" smart as you say. You have to have a HS education.

it depends on what you want to do in the Corps. i scored a 52 on my ASVAB, im a 0311...the higher your ASVAB score, the more options and jobs are available to you....

First off, saying that you're not smart is a bad thing. Today's Marine is a smart tactical unit that is able to achieve an objective by force when needed. The Marine is fast,strong,smart, and able to do his/her skill level as well as become the basic infantry unit when needed. Every Marine is a rifleman first, job second. It is important that you are able to multi task to be a Marine. However, depending on the job your chose you may not have to deal alot with Technical things.
