Pretty much what's happening now and for the next 8-10 years, except American troops won't be getting in the way.
Can you say CIVIL WAR? They usually jast 9-12 years. |

instant and savage civil war - the sort of situation that Saddam prevented by his strong arm tactics the west could not morally hope to match. Moqtadr Al Sadr will come to power then be assassinated. Iran will support Shia - Sauds and US will support (clandestinely) the Sunni - the US will probably then turn its destabilising influence on Iran. Al Quaeda will have free rein in the area. Iraq will become a Moslem state and chaotic in every way like Afghanistan. The west will be digging deep in its bag of tricks to reduce dependecne on oil |

the same thing that has been happening for thousands of years. They will continue to kill each other. |

We have good probables that are pretty accurate. Unless the Iraqi security forces are up to snuff they will be overtaken. Do not discount Syria and Iran being a major part of that take over. |

We would get our soldiers back but also Iran would take over Iraq and they would start to bomb us and try to destroy the United States and they would do it in a heartbeat. |

Many people will die, by the hands of their own. It will be very sad. But ALL the troops will not come home. As they are still in S. Korea, Western Euro and other places, there will be quiet a few left. |

Nobody really knows, but I think we can make a reasonable guess.
There would be a vast amount of bloodshed, for many months, if not years. Iraq itself would split up into separate Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish states. Iran would take over the Shiite state, Saudi Arabia would move in to reinforce the Sunni state and the Kurdish state in the north would probably hold out (though it would be under massive pressure from Turkey).
Oil supplies would come to a halt from most of the country, except perhaps the Kurdish north.
Would the death toll be more than it is today? Definitely yes, by a factor of 10 at least.
Would the West be drawn back in to defend the Kurds? Possibly.
Would the UN issue a letter "deploring" the death toll? Definitely yes.
Would the UN do anything else of consequence? Definitely not.
Would people march in the streets blaming Israel? Definitely yes.
Would the New York Times issue an editorial blaming Bush for pulling out recklessly? Of course. |

I think they will have a "Civil War" so to speak. I can't say for sure but that is what believe...... |

Hopefully the civil war that we are in settles down and that the government wakes up and starts doing their jobs. Most likly is that the country will go into a fully civil war and it will be a mess like it all ways has been before we where ever there. |

When the troops come home, the terrorists will follow them. With Crude Oil selling for over $70 a barrel (42 gallons) the Islamic terrorists have a lot of money to make mischief with.
I worked in the Middle East for 14 years and can assure that there were and still are a lot of American haters there. At that time Oil was around $25 a barrel and Bin Laden and his kind were raking it in with both hands.
The US has porous borders and hundreds of soft targets. With the large sums the terrorists are accumulating, it's not IF but WHEN they hit us here again. I know several ways to kill and injure large numbers of Americans but I'll keep it to myself not knowing who may be reading this and I'm sure don't want to give them any ideas.
Houston, we have a problem |

Life will cease to exist for all civilizations because EVERY neocon knows that this is the pinnacle battle of Good Vs Evil. Forget World War II that spanned a large portion of the world. That was a mere prelude to the juggernauts embattled in Persia.
More likely Iraqis will battle each other for dominance like they should have done if they could have overthrown Saddam themselves. Forget about Iran. Even Shiite Iraqis have no love for Iranians and would not give up their country to their enemy.
But forget about that logic. Instead delight in the apocalyptic vision of western civilization crumbling if that is your fear. |

Well if we do it know it will be mass murder. The terrorist will kill anyone that sided with the US or was in any way associated.
To the answerer Kat, you are really afraid of the US government. If so why would you post on this forum. Bush probably is reading this and will come in the middle of the night to whisk you off to prison. |

first thing that will happen is more US troops will die because they all cant com e out at one time. the troops protecting the roads and cities will be gone and the convoys hauling everything back to Kuwait will be sitting ducks. More IED',ambushes, and pows. Once our military prevails the Iraqi's will be in a civil war. Which may not seem like alot to you but alot of Innocent ppl will die...I meet them ppl ....and they want what we want freedom and a future. |

Peace will come after the Americans withdraw.
The Iraqis are not idiots .This country is the cradle of civilization. The different groups will regroup on their own terms.America with its democratic system is a divided nation . If you the American want Iraq to be like America so let them sort out your mess ,for you will never succeed but they would in a shorter time frame.
Yes, there are many wrinkles and they will iron out their wrinkles with some blood shed but not as much as what the
American caused. |
