Do you rank up if your get a friend to join the marines?

I am going to bootcamp july 7th to become a united states marine. i was wandering if it is true that if you get somone to join you will rank up before you even get there. If this is true what is the process you must go through because i would realy like to come out of boot camp an E-2 so thanks in advance.

E-2?? hmmm. talk to your recruiter... ask about the buddy program.. I received extra rank in boot only because I was company high PFT, physical fitness test. If you can run, do pull ups, sit-ups, drill, and shoot a dog target from 300 yards, you may come out an E-3, which isn't unattainable. It's a matter of talking to the recruiter, make sure you get it in signing about the bump in rank. |

Please stop using the term " rank up "
It makes no sense at all.
You are promoted in the military, you do not rank up.
Rank = stink
You say rank up to someone, they are gonna think your saying they smell bad. |

yes if you get two people to dep in you become an E-2 after you get threw bootcamp. |

My little brother (Marines) only got a bonus for recruiting friends, but the semester he had of college got him a stripe. My older brother who is in the navy did make ranks when he recruited so I guess it depends on how desperately they need people. |

As a Marine myself this was the case when i joined. If that is no longer the case you do get a cash bonus talk to your recruiter and ask him. then call another recruiter in a different city to verify |

Yes but they have to join before you leave............. so much easier than if the leave for boot camp after you........ |

yes you bump up in rank. Every 2 referrels you bring is one rank up.
But they have to swear in first before you can get the rank. |
