I respect all our troops, and appreciate their service. It takes a special person to be brave enough to wear the uniform of The United States Military, and to defend our country. Freedom is not free.

Yes, absolutely. Having served, and having family members who served, I unequivocally respect those that have exposed themselves to harm for my protection. My respect is the least they merit.

I can't believe this question is even being asked. If it wasn't for the US Military you wouldn't have the right or freedom to be even posting this.

The troops deserve our support.

With all the sacrifices they have made by signing up to serve in our military, they chose to live a life that most would have trouble handling. Combat is a frightening idea, but there are those who still saddle up and face the enemy square in the eye, even if they are scared themselves. They have earned the respect so rightfully deserved of any combat veteran.

As commander of both my local American Legion post and my local Veterans of Foreign Wars post, and as a member of my local Vietnam Veterans of America post and my local Marine Corps League detachment, I certainly do support our returning troops...and I support returning them ALL right now!

It is not the soldier's choice to go to war, but merely his duty to serve. It is the politicians who decide if and when to go to war. So, yeah, I respect anyone who serves in the military, regardless of which war they were in.

I respect anyone who has signed up for military service, regardless of where they were sent. They don't get to choose where they go.

yes, at this day in age we owe it to ourselves as americans not to repeat the harsh treatment vietnam vets received happen to the iraq vets. alot of these people will need our help re-adjusting when they come home.

I havn't noticed this additude, and I think that they are brave to have gone, just as the ones that chose to go AWOL are brave. They are but a tool. The gun. It is not their war, but the war of our corrupt government.

Yes. Why wouldn't you respect the people who's job it is to defend our great country? If somebody doesn't have respect for our men in women in uniform, who serve our country, then maybe their in the wrong country.

To disrespect our returning service men as some did in the Vietnam era is treasonous behavior and the person should be shot. They lay their life on the line for you, and you do not want to show respect?

They do a damn difficult job bc they are sent to do it. It doesn't matter if they agree or not, powers that be make those choices for them.

You want to see how our soldiers/sailors/Marines are being respected when they come back? Any man or woman who can go and face the enemy has earned my respect.

I served, it was not fun being in a foxhole protecting a target that would definitely kill me, an sp augmantee, and two nationals, if a Scud hit gee I was there on the first night of the gulf war. We go in scared, but professional and we hopefully come out sorry still scared but alive. The families that have soldiers coming back with this IRAQ attitude are happy to see them and relieved that they are one of the few that come home in one piece. Maybe you should ask do you support the people that put our soldiers being there, and now in other AOR's.

It takes a special person to answer their country's call. If you see one in uniform, why don't you buy their lunch and have a chat with them instead of trying to degrade them here?
