I not only support out troops, I'm one of them! All the talk about supporting us but not the war bemuses most of us, and seems to be a pretty equivocal way of saying we're all stupid pawns, unaware of what we're doing over there. I can tell you from experience that we ARE doing good things over there, more than you'll EVER hear from your mainstream news organizations. All the fighting and bloodshed is emphasized in order to sell news and get better ratings. Good news never gets reported. The bottom line is this: If you haven't been to Iraq, you know nothing about this war other than what you've been told, and most of that I can guarantee you is utter drivel. Ask a soldier about the war, and not the pathetic malcontents who are failing to adapt to military life and spewing vitriol about our country and our chain of command, but those of us who best represent the military. If you could see what I've seen, you wouldn't be so quick to condemn what we're accomplishing over there, despite the rabid backstabbing we're getting from our own countrymen(!) and the rest of the world. |

Yes I support the troops, but I do not support the reason why we are there or the ones that said we needed to send the troops there. I have a friend that is more of a brother to me in the Marines and he is stationed in Iraq, I support him and every other honest troop 100% but I can't stand hearing about the ones that are abusing their power and treating prisoners and citizens too, like they are outcasts in their own country. |

Always. I was man and officer for 27.8 years and expected respect then and am obligated to provide it now. The military obeys its orders (as long as they are lawful) and goes to do its job under civilian control. That's the way our system works and it is the best yet devised. |

Yes, I have a yellow ribbon on the back of my car along with two bumper stickers from the 2004 election. One says "No one died when Clinton lied." The other says, "Save the environment: plant a bush back in Texas."
I feel sorry for them for having to be thousands of miles away fighting a senseless war. And, many of those soldiers are going to come back with a lot of psychological baggage. War is hell! |

Yes, please send them home, allow them to get UNLISTED, give them money to go to school, put them through psych evaluations (because of the horrors they have endured), tell them that MURDER IS STILL WRONG but it wasn't their fault because most of them wanted to do something with their lives but couldn't afford college.
No 18, 19, or 20 year old should DIE for a 60 something year old well-dressed gangsta called BUSH. |

without a shadow of a doubt. They are the bravest of the brave and strongest of the strong. They are a complete different breed of person and everything that they sacrifice makes my heart swell with pride. Thank you to all the Soldiers out there. |

You are damn right I do, they are the reason that I can feel safe in my bed at night.
We should all be bending over backwards to Thank them.
Here--If every yahoo user did this..we would have some real appreciative troops--buy them a phone card

Make your coffee at home this week and take the money that you would have spent at Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. They won't miss it. the troops will love it |

Absolutely! In fact I email them and write letters every chance I get. Whenever I see someone in uniform, I make sure to thank them (even if they aren't fighting in a war) for being willing to put their lives on the line for me and my children.
You'd be surprised how many of them are brought to tears by simple thanks. |
