I have mixed feelings on this one. Right after 9/11 you bet your butt I did. Now I am beginning to wonder what the heck we are doing over there. I do support our courageous troops that are there. |

Yes and I support an invasion/overthrow of Iran.
I was a troop at one time and you cannot support the troops and not support the President.
He is the Commander In Chief of the troops.
The generals report to him and not the other way around. The President of the United States is at the top of the chain of command.
It is schizophenic to declare that you support the troops but not the President:you have a divided mind if you say that.
Iran is our next big problem and here we are discussing what should be a settled issue.
This is not a game and we do not get to choose our desserts from a salad bar.
That is to say, life is not all dessert.
Saddam declared that he was for Al-Quiada and harbored them.
There were parades of fedayeen(the ones that were dressed like ninjas). He had battalions of them!
There were hordes of them! They came from all of Arabia to die for Islam and Saddam.
The World is a rough place and you just have to do what you have to do. |

No. We need to mind our own business. We weren't over there for Saddam anyway - it was supposed to be Osama. We have Saddam - so we need to get out and stop killing people and stop getting our soldiers killed. |

Better to stop the terrorists while they are weak enough, we didnt do anything *cough bill clinton was too busy with monica to do anything* in the 90's so now were doing it, better to fight the war there then here in 5 years. |

I've been there. The people of Iraq need help no matter what the news and terrorist say. I've seen their children murdered by suicidal psychopaths. The answer is yes. |

No, I don't support the war now. I didn't support it at the beginning either, and now it is clear there are no WMD lying around we have egg on our faces and blood on our hands.
However, having gone in and created havoc I think we have a duty to be there to help to try restore order. We can't just run away from the chaos we have induced. Two wrongs don't make a right.
The question is: is the current fighting a necessary evil on the way to restoring order and give people control over their own fate and country (I support that), or is our continued presence part of a move by the west to secure energy resources? I cannot shake off this fear, and it chills me.
For my part, I'm continuing to cycle rather than drive a car. |

Yes. It is important what Bush, Blair and the rest of the coalition are trying to accomplish. Failure would have a lot of bad consequences outside of Iraq.
Terrorism would increase greatly, and WMD would be used.
It's too bad most of the Bush detractors have so little education or historical knowledge they cannot see the potential for these deadly repercussions, just as they remain blind to the fact that all of Clinton's failures to act against terrorist attacks led to 9/11. |

why do you ask that Q?
I'm SOUTH AFRICAN and i shamelessly admit that i don't know much about the war in Iraq. But i also know that no person likes to die,let alone for another persons mistake a long time ago.The truth is that people are dieing and to many it's no skin of their nose. The reality is that the world is selfdistructing and that is no laughing matter. Despite thier reasons for being at war, it stil does not make up for the blood shared and broken families. It's a hard question you ask, and it deserves a well thoughtout answer because a thing like this is not to be treated lightly. No matter what they are fighting for it is no reason to kill for it,because no life taken from another will give the freedom you want. |

no i dont, if i was bush i would never send troops in, it would cost us 200-600 billion dollars for troops, when we could just carpet bomb the entire country in 24 hours with 15,000 high exspoive non nukelear warheads and wipe out all live in iraq and all buildings, every single inch of terrian, they can still grow and reconstruct cause theres no radiation, it would cost the american tax payer 3.6 billion for the warheads, then about 3 billion for the planes to rent for 24 hours , so about 6.6billion, thats alot cheaper than 600billion, and it allows us to free resouces for schools and all the stuff we need at home. =) |

I am not from the USA but if I were I would not support the war in Iraq.. I think George Bush should be sorting out Mugabe in Zimbabwe, but he wont do that as there is not profit or gain for him in that country.. so it looks like old bush is quite happy with genocide... |
