At least he's finally resolved the old question about who is the worst president in U.S. history. Used to be a big debate about whether it was James Buchanan, Franklin Pierce, or Herbert Hoover.
No debate about it any more! Worst president in U.S. history:
George W. Bush
(And no, he didn't serve in Vietnam. He stayed at home during the war by his daddy's influence to get him into the Texas Air National Guard. He didn't even do a good job of that. He failed to show up at meetings and lost his pilot status because he failed to show up for a physical. Anyone else in military service failed to report somewhere as ordered, he'd be in big trouble. But this was George H.W. Bush's son, so young Georgie got away with it. Commander-in-Chief! Ha ha ha! . . . That's a good one!)
By the way, my own military service? Six years United States Marine Corps. Cpl E-4 |

I am in the Navy, and I have worked for many people that don't make a good officer or chief. But it doesn't matter, rank is rank, and as long as they do not order you to do something illegal they must be obeyed. The President did not serve in Vietnam, he joined the Texas Air National Guard which stayed in Texas. |

If you call snorting coke and missing his air national guard weekend drills serving, then I guess so. John Kerry is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam "war". |

Definitely not. I don't like Kerry at all, but even he could've done better than Bush. |

If you call your father (Bush 41) getting you moved to the head of the list for the Texas Air National Guard fly out of date F-102's that were not planning on being deployed as "serving" in the Viet Nam war, then yes.
As far as a good commander in chief, i will not answer that one. I am a military veteran and i find it hard (and hypocritical) to bash Bush and then shout that I support the troops. Good or Bad, he's the military big boss. |

Good ? Are you kidding ? He is the best.
3000+ of our best soldiers and still counting. Absolutely for no reason. How can there be anyone better than him ? |

You know what, thats a hard question. I do not actually agree with everything that comes out of his mouth, but then again im not running the united states. Could someone do a better job? maybe...could someone do a worse job? maybe.....It is hard to say though if he makes a good president. There will be better and worse presidents im sure. One thing that is for sure, we have him until 2008 and there isnt any changing that. |

No!! Looks like you need to do more research if you think he served in any war! Oh man...there is so much you need to learn about him, and I'm afraid it's not good either. |

HaHaHaHa! Your kidding right!? He is the WORST commander in chief this country has ever had. He is arrogant and stupid...a dangerous combination. |

He didn't serve in 'nam you idiot! That was John Kerry! |
|

normobrian

According to him , he isn't the 'Commander-in Chief' , the generals on the ground are. He just does what they tell him. |
|

 |
Yes I do and no he did not. |

cwdc

no, he deserted his cushy air national guard post to go and party while his contemporaries were dying in Vietnam; he was disgraceful then and even more disgraceful now that he is responsible for the deaths of almost 3000 young Americans in a war based on lies and making his buddies richer |

He dragged me and my mates from AUSTRALIA into a war for what, oil!?! Oh, that's right, it's for WMD's, hang on, it's Iraqi Freedom now! Anyone who uses a former GENERAL (Gen Colin Powell) as a scapegoat has got to be the most politically cowardly CINC I've ever heard of. And, no, he did not serve in Viet Nam, he was actually AWOL for most of his time in the National Guard. John Kerry did serve there as well as another Republican senator. |

He serves a commander for himself . Not anything else.
To have the best interests of others, one must love them enough to NOT replace pain with more pain.
Replace Control with Respect. And there is a new view of how to deal with others. |

You're kidding right? He's a terrible "Commander in Chief." And no, he didnt serve in the Vietnam war. He was in the national guard in the air force. He had a C average in college and yet was able to fly complicated high tech fighter planes? NIce to have a Daddy who knows people. |

Many of the presidents have no combat experience whatsoever, and many, who served in the military, had cushy jobs,so what conclusions can you draw from this? Bush was NEVER in Vietnam. He was in an NG unit. |

He is the cat's meow.
he is a Vietnam era Veteran, and a qualified fighter pilot.
What have you done for your country? |

I think he is a great commander in chief. I wish I could have served with him in command. I had to deal with that embarrassment called carter, but was rewarded with finishing my enlistment with Reagan. I could hold my head up again. |

This Bush has stood like a giant Oak tree against all the bush bashing that has been dished out for no cause. |

Yes, he is wonderful!
And he served in the Air Force Reserve.
What branch of the military were you in? |
|

samunition
 |
No, i think he makes a GREAT commander in chief!!! |
|

Calee
|
No, he's quite awful. He never served in Vietnam, in fact,
he was in some branch of the reserves. Cheney was never
in the military, he had about 5 deferments.
Tonight I saw a show about how one of our disabled soldiers
was lost in bureaucracy, came home from Iraq & was
forced to live in his car.
Unbelievable, isn't it? |
|

wylted

he did not serve in any war and no politician makes a good commander in chief the job should be delegated to a 4 star general even though its not |
