This is not a stupid question and all of you who keep answering "What puppy? What marine?" should not have answered this question!!!! This question is referring to a recent video made public showing a few U.S. Marines throwing a puppy over a cliff and laughing about it. What's not clear is if the puppy is real or not (it does not move or blink in the video) but some kind of yelp can be heard when the puppy is thrown (the authenticity of the yelp is also not clear). To answer the original question, I think it does not matter either way if the puppy is real or fake, some kind of punishment should be in order. I understand guys in war can get bored and frustrated, but even if the puppy is fake, to broadcast this prank on the internet damages the fine reputation of the Marine Corps. And of course if the puppy is real, punishment should be much more severe for animal cruelty because the Marine Corps should be held to high moral standards. |

if the Puppy was "Fake" then no real act of cruelty was committed.
However, the Puppy in question had been a real canine. Whether it was alive at the time it was picked up for the video is the apparent debate.
Personally, it was a F@#$ing dumbazz thing to do and film
and even more Collossally stupid to post on the internet
I'm sure HQUSMC is taking quite the dim view of those 2 Marines about now. |

NO, there is nothing REMOTELY FUNNY about killing or PRETENDING to kill a puppy. Our American Standards should be held higher than this. The WORLD is WATCHING US!! |

I think just joking about it is awful... Do we really need people like that in our military?? |

It doesn't make a difference. I still think it's cruel and punishable. Very sad.... |

Makes no difference what so ever, those three Marines are in for a very rude awaking when the Department of the Navy and HQUSMC catches up to them.
Those of you who think it is only an stupid, criminal act because they filmed it then posted it on the internet need to check your moral compass. It was an immoral act whether it was filmed or not filmed! |

Of course it makes a difference. Throwing a live puppy off a cliff is a sadistic act of taking another life for your own enjoyment. Throwing a stuffed animal off a cliff, even as a sick joke, is not the same as killing an innocent animal. Whether you fooled people makes no difference. It's the act that matters. |

I don't think it was a fake at all. First of all, you can't do the kind of special effects they do in Hollywood with a cheap camera that they have. And the military asking YouTube to pull it off their site certainly proves that the government can silence anyone they want. They're just trying to save ***. How about throwing that marine off the cliff. I'm all for that. Retards like him don't have the right to live. |

If he & his buddies are Marines, or any service member for that matter, their Commanding Officer can charge them under Article 134 UCMJ for discrediting the Armed Forces for committing a hideous act and causing negative publicity, regardless if it was a joke or not. |
