Do you think its better to go to college before or after the army i dont want to do rotc?

Get your college degree 1st, then join. More $$ as a commissioned officer, & (depending on what you get your degree in) you get to stay in your major. If you pick a BS major, they will commision you according to the needs of the militaty. I'm working on finishing my PT degree now, & once I'm done, I can go back & be a PT in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

You can get into good school after, but you have to do college level courses on your downtime & keep your grades up. Depending on your MOS & how much time your command will allow you to have to take a few college courses, this can be hard. The military SAYS that you can take courses while you're on Active Duty. Reality is, if you're busting your hump 18hr days & have a irregular schedule (which military is notorious for), you won't be goin to school on active duty.

If you wait, the 2008 GI Bill now pays for 3yrs of in state college & gives you a stipend for books & Basic Allownace for Housing (BAH) as E5

personally man. i leave in a couple weeks. i'm also getting 47,000 for school through the GI Bill. I'm also getting the (Army College Fund) $650 a month for 4 years after i finish my active duty. which adds up to $71,000 total for college money. Also all the schooling i do while i'm active is free so i won't have to touch my GI Bill money till i get out.

you decide. leadership training, serving your country, paid medical.food.housing.electricity.water..... you even get a clothing allowance for your uniforms....also a chance to be part of something bigger than yourself, and the chance to see the world.

I would go military first. Get your degree. then go back in as an officer. that way you see both sides of the fence.....Enlisted and Officer

I found going afterwords I appreciated my education. I was there for a reason. I see so many people in college out of HS that drop or fail classes because they really don't want to be there. There's no discipline.

Plus, many teachers appreciate having Veterans in their class, we always participate, therefore get better grades

Check with your recruiter; but, the experience is substantially different officer v. enlisted.

I would opt for college first, in whatever form, then the military.

Your choice. If you want to be an officer in the military go to college first. If you are broke go to college while in the military, they pay for it.

go before, if you join the army you could be blown to pieces in afghanistan, like the 4000 dead us soldoers so far, if you go to college before, it may coast more, but a tleast you will be alive, andif your luckty the whole madness will be over by the time you graduate
