No. The military doesn't want the draft. It would rather have motivated people filling its ranks. The only way we would have a draft again was if we were involved in a large scale war against a uniformed adversary where shear numbers are important. In this era of small scale wars this seems unlikely. |

Although we are in the middle of the Iraq War, I highly doubt America will be forced into another draft. We seem to be doing alright in our military and our country isn't desperate for soldiers at the moment, so, although I know several people have already answered in this way, I doubt we will have a draft in the near future. I doubt we will have one in the distant future, but you never know for sure. |

No, we have something called IRR. It's those of us who joined and got out after four years can be called back up. So don't worry, you won't ever have to do anything that might be hard. God forbid you actually give back to the country that gave you so much. |
