I am against most gun control, but I do agree that there should at least be some minimal background check against people buying firearms. Otherwise, what is to stop some mental patient or violence offender from walking in and buying something.
As always, the laws on our books are often good enough to prevent gun crime. The problem is, they are either not enforced, cannot be enforced, or there is not the money to enforce them. |

I am probably the world's biggest supporter of the 2nd amendment, and I am a Life member (Endowment) of the NRA. I am also a VA resident. I would NEVER want anyone to be able to purchase a firearm without proper identification. |

As a N.R.A. member no to gun store owners. But as a private citizen you are not require to ask for I.D. I like to add firearms like alcohol have a minimum age for purchase. |

I think any citizen of the several sovereign states should be able to purchase any firearm they like without showing identification.
Of course their fellow citizens should enjoy the same right. An armed society is a polite society.
But once you start asking for ID, it is just a matter of time until the jack-booted thugs are in control. |
