Yes, I believe we will win the war on terror. Here is why I think so: First, we have better technology, with more to come. We have the world's best trained, best equipped military. We are the rich kids on the global block. In fact, it really does seem to be our freedom and prowess, which the radical Muslims, and our other enemies hate so much. We may never kill every single terrorist, but we have ways of making sure they don't get to do anything here, even if there are sleeper cells, which there could be. We are probably the most fortunate country, overall, in the world, and other democracies look to us for ideas and guidance. |

In order to win the 'war on terror' (stupid name) you have to kill everyone disgruntled with your terrible behaviour on the world stage.
It's impossible to win that war, because the more disgruntled people you kill, the more people become disgruntled.
The way to stop terrorism isn't by declaring war on it, it's by changing your bullying behaviour, and your brutally selfish foreign policies. |

there is no war on terror. It's more of a mission... like the war on drugs... and no, we can't win against people who don't play by any rules... we need to stop trying to fight against "terrorists" and instead find out why they hate us and what we can do to help. |

The whole idea is ludicrous...(same as the "war on drugs," which is another ludicrous concept...)
The only time "war" makes even a little bit of sense is when that war would be against an actual country with a uniformed military, nationalistic agenda, international recognition, flags, and borders and territories...
You can't war against an extremist idea...terrorists are from EVERY country, even some in America like Timothy McVeigh and the Columbine High School duo who killed all those people in Colorado...
They're organized criminals...not militaristic enemies with uniforms... |

I live in a place where people get killed all the time for nothing at all. It is sad but knows as long as our laws allow for criminals to do whatever they want then no. This world can be heaven but it is in the hands of people that value money more than life so no we will never win. Because it is about money and not people. sorry |

there will always be people fighting in the middle east. it has been happening forever. but the united states has to act like a bad *** and stick its nose where it doesnt belong. these countries have very strict religious beliefs and as long as they remain muslim, the country will not change. who are we anyway? they have been living this way for thousands of years. does anyone remember our civil war?? we need to let it go already. |

It is a tough situation. The political situation is changing because usually countries felt threatened by other powerful countries. With terror, powerful countries feel threatened by individuals. It is a difficult dilemma. A similar situation would be like war on drugs.
However, there is hope!

The best deterrent so far to nuclear war is the hydrogen bomb, but this may change due to Iran’s insistence on becoming a nuclear power.
Imagine a country that has a seventh century mind set becoming a nuclear power. They will no doubt use it, and we can’t afford not to take them seriously.
