Sorry to say but No.
There are many reasons why as well, the Royal Marines conducted tests on this some years ago and I'll list some of these here.
Physical Ability;
Although there are women who have strength equal to their male counterparts – it’s not a common situation.
Although there are women who have the same stamina to their male counterparts – again as with strength it’s not an overly common situation.
Only 60% of recruits to the Royal Marines complete the training, these individuals are exceptional men who combine above average physical strength, stamina and overall fitness. To allow women to take part you would have to find exceptional women who not only have above average strength for a woman but also have above average stamina. A Royal Marine recruit’s show above normal fitness before they even begin basic training you must ask the question, how many women would meet the basic requirements and how many would eventually make the grade?
The other question you should ask; in combat you can find your-self carrying Bergen’s weighing 130Ibs or more, yet having a quick check on the net, the average weight of a woman in the UK is just 127Ibs.
So if I give a woman a Bergen weighing 130Ibs and ask her to tab 30 miles, how’s she going to do?
Instinct
This one has been banded around quite a lot but it’s true. Men instinctively feel protective towards a woman. In combat this could lead to men worrying over injured female troops rather than concentrating on the surrounding combat.
Pregnancy
Your troop is about to leave for combat operation, every member is an important ‘link in the chain’; just as your boarding your C-17 the company doctor announces that the female member of your team – the one who trains with you, knows how every one else in the troop works, and every one else in the troop knows how she works – is pregnant and can’t go. So a short notice she has to be replaced with some one the team has never worked with – ultimately putting the operation at risk.
And yes this has happened in the Swedish armed forces, so we know it does and will happen.
Relationships
What about relationships between male and female personnel? As we know from the Royal Navy banning such things does no real good – it can leave to jealousy between mates and trouble in combat zones – not so much a problem on board a war ship – but potentially disastrous in a war zone.
Also as we are aware from the Royal Navy many wives and girlfriends are far from happy with their partners being in confined spaces with women who are many miles away from their own partners for long periods of time. |

yes men might sometimes might be stronger but women will give 110% if they want to be in. guys shouldn't stereotype women many are stronger than them and women try harder. |

Sure they should. Equality in all things is what I say. But if you are going to allow them in then they should be able to meet the physical requirements without any adjustment to those standards. A man humping a 50 to 60 pound pack around in the mountains of Afghanistan has enough problems carrying the pack and his weapon and ammunition. How is a woman going to make out doing the same? Not trying to be detrimental here but most women I know don't have the strength to do it. The life of an infantryman, and that is what the marines and even the SAS are, is a very dirty deal. How many women are willing to put up with that outside of the covers of Harold Coyle's novels? Oh well, I'm all for it if they can meet the standards that are already in place without any change to those standards. They're they're there for a reason. Yes, as long as the physical standards are the same... There will be an air of tension and adjustments at first.. But I guess that once they get in to a unit, it wouldn't matter after a while because everybody will get used to it.. The most important thing is that you can rely your life in the hands of another.. That's what matters...
Maybe to start with though, they can make just a majority woman combat team with just a few guys so the tension wouldn't be as hard compared to more males around... |

NO. There are books out about all the evidence that supports the fact that women do NOT do well in combat. Personally I think that if women want to work with the military they should be contracted to do so, but not hold a military title. Why? Because they CAN NOT go to the front and fight sufficiently if the need arises. My only exception would be if the women would shave their heads and have to meet the EXACT requirements male recruits do.
Mia- women are "likely" to see the same as combat infantry? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah right. Not even close. Talk to my husband when you get back and I promise what ever you think you might have seen will not be close to what he has. |

If they meet the criteria then yes.
However in recent years we have seen cases where females have taken the MOD to court over issues of becoming pregnant and demanding maternity leave. I would say that this should be exempt from their rights when joining the more elite of the services. |

If they're mad enough to want to go into combat, I guess they should be allowed to do the work within reason. Feminism can only take us so far, though, and it's a fact that men are stronger. |
