i know some (not all) soldiers and they dont like it. i think we do need to put out, but in time if we put out tommorow/ next week/ next month then there could be violent, dangerous concequences. we need to prepare the country before we just abandon them. but we really should try to get troops home as soon as safely possible.

What about our responsibility to our allies in the region. If Iraq falls what happens to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, How about the other countries our allies who are still there? Who ever ends up controlling all of Iraq's oil canither be our ally of our enemy. What if this oil money falls inot the hands of Al Queda? Does anyone even care?

Yes, we do have a draft, they just call it Selective Service now. We are not fighting over there because of the 9/11 attacks anymore so stop deluding yourself. It's all about oil and the control of it. I'm a military wife and mother so I know this first hand!

I do agree that pulling out of Iraq before the democratic government can protect the people(and the gov itself) from insurgents would be a big mistake. But the people in the miltary enlist for active service for 4 years. But now, troops who have served their 4 years and become civilians again are being pulled back into the military due to this stupid idea, RECALL. Bush has authorized the marines, and possibly other branches of the military to recall former soldiers to re-join active duty, which to me is just like the draft.

This is nothing to do with 9/11, it has nothing to do with Iraq either. The ultimate goal here is control of Iran. It always has been. 9/11 was just what Bush was waiting for in order to justify sending the American military machine into Iraq. Why Iraq? Because it's right next door to Iran and it's easier to launch military attacks against Iran, and why Iran? Because there is a huge amount of oil in the country and that means FAT PROFITS for Bush and his cronies.

If you are so easily taken in by lies and deception it is better not to say anything. At least if you say nothing, nobody will realise how pathetically stupid you really are.

I whole heartedly agree with everything you said...except the 9/11 part. There is no link between the two. We are in Iraq to contain the situation in the Middle East and to protect the oil and to protect Israel. All of it is speculation because our leadership never made a concrete case for going into Iraq. The case they did made fell apart when it was too late.
Now we can't leave. We will be a presence there for several generations to come, maybe different types of personnel depending on how Iraq does at putting the pieces back together. I criticize the motives of our President and the war, but I thank the soldiers for the job they do and their sacrifice, and I am thankful I live in a free society where I can question authority and speak freely.

I'm not speaking out of my rear- I have 2 younger brothers that have spent a year each in Fallujah and Baghdad.

So I must note I am proud of all of the soldiers who have made the sacrifice and given up time with their families to fight for their lives and possibly our freedom as well if you can even call America freedom anymore with the hypocrisy and criticism of freedom of speech.
