Before someone kicks off again about this shoud not be in THIS category.. I'll give 2 reasons why

i) Prince Andrew is an ex-Navy pilot and has 2 nephews in HM Armed Forces !
ii) 9 time out of 10 it is ALWAYS the Military Forces on the receiving end of politicians Orders - be it puttin gout fires cos Fire Service on strike.. or empty the rubbish bins cos the "refuse service" have gone on strike.. or.. go into war because President George W Bush "asked for help" - QUOTE

Yes. Our politicians should never have agreed to us getting into bed with the US over this.

of course he does and he is so right in what he said, the English have been there and done all this, with the wars and with the IRA. Maybe it is time that the world started listening to the best ROYAL SERVICE in the world.

By the way, Prince Andrew was a serving member of the Armed Forces and has been to WAR.

Everybody has a right to speak their mind in this society of free speech, however hard the government try to stop us.

Andrew is no different in that respect. This has only hit the headlines because he is saying what the majority of us British think. Ordinary people do not get any space through the media to get our voices heard, so listen to what Andrew is saying - he is right !!

you seem to forget that the war on Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism or 9/11, so yes the Prince was justified.

oh and the idea that this is not just Americas war is nonsense every country has its own problems if only our then Prime Minister had the balls to say to Bush and his cronies NO im not interested in bombing an innocent country (only the dictator is questionable even then he did nothing to the US or Britain) then iam very sure the London bombings would never have happened, Spain pulled out after the Madrid bombings and are no longer at threat from terrorist attack from Islamic extremists (they have there own problems with ETA.

I have no problem with helping America at all i love the country and love the people have much family there but i will not be LIED to when you need help to gain strategic geographical locations for oil/arms/economic gain, Bush should be impeached for the horrific lies he and his cronies have subjected not only the US citizens to but the rest of the world too, he is totally responsible for the growing number of deaths both personel and civilian in the middle east.

He most certainly does. Britain has a long history and experience of this type of thing (as Prince Andrew stated) and it is foolish not to learn from past successes and mistakes. I'm impressed that he stood up and said this.

As a representative of the British Royal family and a student of military history, his views should be treated as those of an expert. After all, the British invaded and murdered our way to an empire in the 19th century and invented concentration camps. (Sorry illegal combatants rendering facilities). We led the world in torture. (I meant proactive interrogation techniques). We had merchant adventurers terrorising foreign countries so we could steal their mineral rights.

We can't stop the Americans making the same mistakes, but we can offer advice on how to get out of the mess.

From what you have posted here I can tell you nothing since there are no specifics of the advice the Bush admin. did not follow.

Your further speculations as far as I can tell are based on the fallacy usually entitled 'appeal to authority'

G.W. Bush has been apparently also a pilot, it didn't keep him from blundering.

Prince Andrew has never been know for having exemplary judgment. Personally, I have seen nothing out of him that would lead me to listen to much of his advice unless it was where the best pubs were for picking up girls.

NO, a militarey member may have valid point bt that is all it is. His comments should be filed away as nothing the same as john kerrys should have been in the vietnam war.

Then I guess we should just fire everyone in Washington because the Prince has spoken. I don't give a damn if he did serve in the Military. I did too. Prince Andrew needs to talk about who is making decisions for his country, and not criticize anyone.
