Does anyone agree that Iraq wasn't actually much a war but rather...?

... an invasion and a massacre? You Americans cry about 4K volunteer soldiers while hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died, lost their homes and the people they loved. Along with their sovereignty.
Your victory was someone else's ruin.
So, was this really a war, or just a massacre?

"As much of a war" I'm tired, whatever...

Your from mexico, bad mouthing America, yet I will bet my paycheck you tried to cross the border illegally or are already here. The majority of Iraqis that are killed are by their own people, fighting over some stupid religion. I've been to Iraq a few times and have seen it first hand, its Sunnis vs Shia and throw in some ethnic Kurds and Pakistani nationals. The US and the coalition do all they can to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Have a nice day.

Remind the Americans to never help your nation ever again.

Its easy to judge someone for their action when you look from far away. Try serving your country. Better yet, try putting your life on the line for someone else. Then ask those questions.

A one-sided war is still a war.

Sort of. It was ostensibly a mission to remove Saddam and help establish democracy. That has been largely accomplished and many thousands of Iraqis were killed during the process.

So are you claiming that wasn't necessary?

Dark Lord of Truth
All victories are someone else's ruin. You don't sound insightful talking like this, you sound whiny... but it was a very one sided war - Iraq wasn't capable of fending off the USA, even when we held back so much against them. If we wanted to massacre the nation, we would. We could blow the country off the map if we so chose, but that's not what we do. Are you French? Just wondering...

Edit - Oh, Mexican. Anyway, where do you get off with your "you Americans" crap, anyway? How many of the millions of Americans do you actually know? Other than what you hear on the Mexican radio station... so, how are things south of the border (since "you Mexicans" seem to be so great...)? Hmmm... not so hot, last time I checked. Gangsters running your government, riots, kidnappings, extreme poverty (in a country that COULD be rich, by the way...). Thanks, but I don't think America needs advice on how to run a succesful country from a country that can't stand on it's own two feet worth a damn. Mexico is known worldwide as a crime infested slum. That's why so many of your population risk their lives to live in our country, instead. Desperate to get out because Mexico is a hole. You guys can't even govern yourselves, and you pass judgement on my country and my people? Sounds more like bitterness and spite to me...

Don't say "You Americans" as if everyone is in the same agreement together! I agree on that it was strictly an Invasion, that is why it is called the Iraqi Invasion of 2003...hell I was there! But what do you mean by a massacre, on whom I may ask? I don't ever recall seeing such a thing? And we weren't massacred either! I don't whimper about our losses, although I may have grievance over our poor souls, but every war has is losses, war is never pretty, on both sides! I even expected to get killed, and didn't really mind, the adrenaline made me feel more alive, and I have sole belief in God that death don't scare me, but consider it a blessing!

Those hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed, massacred, on the behalf of Saddam and his evil regime. Only adversaries we had to face were the Fedayeen...thousands of the Iraqi Army and Air Force surrendered to us, which we gave them proper humane treatment in return; they didn't want to fight for Saddam, hell, they sure didn't even like him as their dictator!

Believe me, if we massacred the Iraqis by the hundreds of thousands, we would be having about 200 of the UN sanctionized countries on our behinds, plus the thousands of convicted charges of war crimes...but yet we have yet not had one case charged against us! I'm surprise there are none, and we are the most hated country even!

But quite funny how you suddenly came up with your "matter-of-fact" nonsense, that no one in the world haven't heard a thing about it! You must know something that the rest of us millions no nothing about! You should run for directorate of the MI6 or CIA, you have some outstanding truth from your unknown sources.

As for the oil...I hadn't seen any gas prices go any lower, if we were there for the oil. From what I recall, we hadn't even bothered in touching it yet. I am convinced that the French or some other country that is calling all the shots in UN will weasel their way into the oil and bring upon another scandal.

Well it may not have turned out the way we all wanted it to but the world is a safer place with out Saddam Hussein and so are the people of Iraq!!!!

It definitely wasn't a massacre but an unwanted Invasion. Americans are the only people who support the war. As a person from another country, I don't understand how the US can invade another country without the UN consensus and the proclaim that they are establishing democracy. Who are you anyway? Saviour? If a dictator is ruling one country its that country's problem and the civilians there must rise up against the Dictator if they don't agree with him. American still supports the Kingdom of Saudi for Oil and Pakistan for no apparent reason. In the future take on some country your size like Russia or China. Invading small countries like Iraq and Afghanistan who can't fight back doesn't make you heroes.

it definitely is not a war. it was an invasion in order to get oil.
removing saddam and installing democracy? what a phony
pretense. in the first place saddam used to be a big buddy
of the us- americans some time earlier, in the second place
he did not have weapons of mass destruction and in the third
place he was not supposed to open his mouth too much as soon
as he was not a buddy any more.
as far as i know the usa never declared war on the iraq, it declared war on an abstract - terror - and i do not believe than one can
actually declare war on an abstract.
a sack full of lies in order to gain profit, no matter what price
the opponents had and have to pay.
furthermore i do not remember that the usa ever brought
democracy to any of the countries which they have been at
war on in recent times.

i am not an us citizen, i am not particularly fond of the iraq,
but i do have eyes to see and a brain to think.

I would rather say...an invasion, a slaughter, a fiasco, a jihad, a cunning plan, a careful withdrawal, a civil war, a jihad, and a slow but steady peace in that order, with the civil war waiting until we leave.

9/11 was the excuse to go to war or invade Iraq, there lot of oil there you know. Self inflicted wound. The illuminati and their groups did it.

I completely agree with you. They weren't bothering America, it was not our right to invade their country and rape it for oil. The threat of terrorism was completely exaggerated to justify the atrocity, there was no reason for a war. Anyone who thinks we helped the people of Iraq by doing that must be completely incapable of thought.
